Scruvs, thanks so much for the video! I was wondering if you or someone else could possibly re-upload Jane the Queen of Love, Sing for Joy, and Bullet, as for some reason these links are dead. If you don't get a chance it's no big deal.
Thanks again!
yousendit links are temporary based on time or # of downloads. I'll get these up on youtube.com within the next couple of days so that I don't have to keep uploading them.

Posted - 03/16/2006 : 19:48:24 IT was one of the best. I had plenty of time to dance around and really enjoy the show. Even while recording, I couldn't stand completely still during Western Star or Deadman's Curve.
It's hard for me to say one show was better than the other, but I think I liked the 2nd show just as much as the first. Frank was playing without a setlist the 2nd night, and I thought the show flowed really well. He seemed to have a better idea of what he wanted to play. No Pixies songs the 2nd night probably made room for an extra Frank or Catholics song or two. I missed the telecasters the 2nd night, and really enjoyed hearing Deadman's Curve on the tele on the 1st night. Maybe the new songs were a little more fun for me the 2nd night, just because I had already heard them once.
The songs were great. I loved hearing all of the Cult of Ray songs. I loved I Need Peace and Massif Centrale. I loved Western Star. I loved hearing Horrible Day both nights. I loved hearing If It Takes All Night at the end of the 2nd show, and thinking maybe he gets to drive home tonight and see his family.
I'm thankful for the shows. They were incredible.

Posted - 03/16/2006 : 19:28:21 i feel bad frank had to stop sing for joy. someone in the crowd did tell me my backup vocals were good. but that was early, during all my ghosts and men in black when i just sang ooo ooo ooo, and oh oh oh! but yeah by the time sing for joy hit, all sense of propriety was out the door. headache and calistan, headache and calistan. it felt good to know wednesday would be without my presensce. i didn't see any pixies reunion shows, but they went on for so long that when i was there hearing his solo stuff again i lost it. the pixies are the best band of all time but it kinda pissed me off thatt all these people came out of the woodwork for the reunion, when frank was driving across the country for a decade rocking our asses off. the cult of ray tour was insanely good. i saw announcement as the final song- i have no sanity at frank black concerts. |

First night was definitely better, not that the second night was bad at all, it just took Frank a little to get into it. Wish he had a night in between to rest.
Scruvs, were you the blonde directly in front of frank? Nice work, if that was you, I saw you shooting the video.
Bonedry, we didn't have our resident drunk guy last night. What gives?
naw, Scruvs was the dude with the beard standing next to the blonde.

Ah you're right. It was after Jane, The Queen of Love.

(9 posts and 165 reads. Now there's a ratio for ya. Reminds me of oldman's thread about Frank solo in Nashville. Funny. That thread had photos and video clips, too) |
