I wonder why there isn't an official Catholics DVD. I understand solo Frank is somewhat of a novelty in the overall music biz scene, but even without marketing some profit could be made for whomever put it out. Forgive me if the topic has already been discussed here, as you can tell by my friendly posting counter, I'm a newbie to the site (rest assured, not to FB). I figure the only way short of some miraculous FB breakthrough, to make this happen is to put together a fans petition directed at the appropriate peoples. Hey, it worked for Star Trek's third season. Comments?
By the way, I'm serious...

Didn't someone say that EXACT thing about Pixies?

I don't think they'll ever play again, until they all realize how much fun it was... from my calculations, that should take all of about 11-12 years.

I could talk myself to death, but I believe I would only waste my breath.

I think I got my copy of the Route Du Rock show on eMule, shouldn't be too hard to find. Average video quality but kickass setlist. Oh, and if you zoom on the audience you might see me somewhere, who knows.

I think the whole concert was shown - about 50 minutes. I have it on video someplace (but no player), but I think it was from teenager of the year tour. Maybe, just maybe, it was from the cult of ray tour. Feldman plays bass. It might be the show that Frank Black considered to be his worst moment as an artist ever - maybe someone here remembers.

There was also a brief interview with Black backstage where he played "the man that was too loud" on an accoustic guitar.

Anyway, there should be plenty of decent recordings available to put together a good catholics live album. i could do without a DVD recorded at a festival - they were a club band and sound/look better in that setting.

Cool i've burnt it and will send Monday Dean, threw in another FB show for good measure (not pro shot, but certainly very interesting to another Frank conniseuir.)

I hope that some more filmed shows come out of the woodwork.

We could certainly look at it, hosting it would depend on a variety of things, but I'm sure we could find some way of hosting parts of it or something. Anyway, I'll email you.

The closest thing i have to a live filmed Catholics show is Frank, Lyle, Dave and Scott at the Rockpalast in Germany, an absolutley clear as crystal, pristine show from the cult of ray tour. Needless to say it rocks and is fantastic quality. If FB.net can host it i'll send it to Dean / Brian.

Winnipeg show on CBC3? Where? Where? I've only seen the Regina one... (which, sadly, no video, I was there)

There is a all FB&C show from "la route du rock 2001" festival. A french TV chanel, mcm, broadcast it some years ago. I know it's not a DVD but maybe you can find it on P2P.

I dont think enough artists appreciate how much cash they can generate from DVDs. Theyre probably up there with T-shirts, CDs, postsers, etc...

Why do they skip over official DVDs???
Holy Fingers Posted - 04/05/2006 : 08:57:07
Of course an official dvd would be great. However, I would settle for a poor quality bootleg dvd. I am constantly hunting at cd and record fairs for some sort of F.B. or Catholics video. No luck thus far. Any Frank is good Frank.

The tracklistings for the proposed 'Covers' album and a seperate 'B Sides' album were posted by Frank, weren't they?

I can't remember whether it was decided that they would be released individually or in one giant package with the studio albums. I suppose the numbers of fans willing to pay out for all the albums would be minimal though!
