Very specific request here. For sentimental reasons, I'm seeking anything related to the March 31, 2003, FB&C show at Shank Hall, in Milwaukee, Wis. This includes bootleg recordings and/or photos. Even stories.

Please post any info you have. Thanks!

I agree, it was a fantastic show. I dragged my much older brother along -- he an avowed Pixies' hater but enthusiastic Frank Black (yellow album) fan.

I was impressed by how close we were to stage. I might have been 10 feet at most from Frank, and with the low stage, we were almost eye level. Almost a little too intimate!

The band was on fire that night, and I truly felt like we got our money's worth. It was the first time I heard "Manitoba," and I remember that one hit me particularly hard -- especially the "I have seen the face of God/And I have dearly paid" lyric. My bro is a recovering drinker and I was in a devastating break-up at the time, so this song, and several from "Black Letter," "Workshop" and "Show Me" had particular impact. That's usually how it is with me and Frank shows.

Also got to see my brother's head bob to "awful" Pixies songs. Not so awful, eh?

Afterward, my brother considered asking Frank to sign his truck with Sharpie marker. Silly, but I'd had a few beers and was totally on board. He was simply impressed with the playing. But the truck was three blocks away ... so we just ambled along and listened to "yellow" at high volume on the drive home.

Next night was an incendiary set at The Quest in Minneapolis. Another fantastic show. The Catholics were absolutely in stride by this date.

what a great show that was. i was 19 at the time, si i had to use a fake ID that surprisingly worked. i wore an E&J brandy hat to send the message: "hey, someone who wears an alcohol-sponsered hat MUST be 21!"

that show was the most intense rock and roll show i've ever experienced. after hearing the most rocking song i had ever heard (I Want Rock And Roll), they amazingly rocked even harder on Nadine. it blew me away. I was thrilled to hear southbound bevy and dirty old town. how they opened with the most rocking version of Where is My Mind was perfect. awesome show. also, the acoustic in-store at Atomic was really fun.

after the show, we went to Johnny V's in West Allis, where i conquered the Robert E. Lee Special, causing me to throw up in the bushes across the street and a cop to pull over to see what was the matter.

good times.
