Hey

I illeagally downloaded a version of 'In Heaven', as sang by Kim in the this tour. I must admit I thought it was lame, nowhere near as good as the old version. There are soooo many other songs I would've liked to hear Kim sing (anyone else for Kim on Cactus?)

Anyway, I wondered whether all the version were like the one I heard (like the slow part in the beginning of the 'original' "In Heaven" without the punk bit, and with kim on vocals) or whether there were any good ones

I think it's a good change. There are tons of other songs where you can hear Frank go crazy on the screaming, so it's calming to hear Kim's soothing voice mixed with the simplicity of Joey's guitar in the background.

I loved the Kim-centric version of "In Heaven" -- I think it's dreamy.

i quite like it, it's like how the breeders would do it... although i have to admit when i first heard it i was expecting them to rock out at any point, and was a tad disapointed when it just went into wave of mutilation (which is far from my fave pixies song)... they sometimes go into where is my mind, they did at t-in-the-park, and i liked that more.

At Roskilde they played 'In Heaven' with Kim singing and it was slow, ala 'uk surf...'. I thought it was kinda cool, though I kept on thinking it would go fast half way through.

I have to disagree, i think Kim singing with Joeys atmospheric guitar in the back rocks, i have the coachella disclive and it is superb on that cd, also having heard it live 2 times this way i think it surpasses the version with Frank on vocals. The segue into WIMY on the coachella disclive sounds cool too. I love the way they are experimenting with the songs like Nimrods son and In heaven, it just livens the show that little bit more, mind you i'm quite pleased the experimenting hasn't affected other songs which are perfection in my estimation.

They've been playing all the lives ones slow/with Kim and in combination (usually) with the UK Surf Wave of Mutilation.
