Hi do not know if the news is out but I just saw from my car a poster on 34th Street announcing the Pixies at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Dec 12-13. Ticket Sales to go on Friday Aug 13 at noon. No opening band mentioned.
Have all a good week end. Mine is done.

I mean I never thought MOB would ever get back together...this is pretty cool.

they've been back together for quite some time - at least a few years sporadically playing here and there. recently put out a new album and now touring behind it. saw them last february at irving plaza. excellent show! they sound even better than they did in the eighties.

I saw MoB at the Siren festival at Coney Island a few weeks ago. They were good.

I would also like to know who's opening on the Wed and Thurs shows...If it's MIssion of Burma, then I'm buying tickets for sure - I mean I never thought MOB would ever get back together...this is pretty cool.

Alienation confers freedom. Obscurity will keep you pure. Pray that you won’t be discovered young, so that you won’t be tempted to sell out early, or won’t be seduced by celebrity.

DAMMIT!

All right, that REALLY sucks. All of a sudden they added a Saturday night show? The day after I scrambled to settle for Sunday?

It's really bullshit for tickets to go on sale not only 4 months before the concert, and for $51, but before all the information is even made public.

cc.com website. How redundant!

According to the CC.com website the Pixies are playing Hammerstein on the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th.

what about the 10th and 11th hammerstein shows? do you think those will be released on tm soon after the 12th and 13th shows go on sale? i don't really want to spend an hour or two hitting refresh till they pop up. any word?

woo hoo- just ordered my tickets for monday night, the 13th. sorry to be so immature, but I've been reading through these posts for five months and now I finally get to see them. alright, so it's still four months away. hmm....where's my nail file?

anyone else going?
Broken Face Posted - 08/12/2004 : 06:57:27

ok.. WTF is the promotional code for the advance ticket purchase thing through CC.com??????
slaveish Posted - 08/11/2004 : 14:14:37
I called Hammerstein Ballroom, and no luck on avoiding ticketmaster fees- they don't even have a box office.
slaveish Posted - 08/10/2004 : 18:32:34
Opening bands and presale info are listed on Clear Channel's ticketing info page:

http://cc.com/artist.html?mode=ARTIST&artist_id=427268

The Datsuns Dec. 12, Mission of Burma Dec. 13.
Chip Away Boy Posted - 08/09/2004 : 14:00:49
that's what i'd normally do, because i hate ticketmaster, but then if presale is only through ticketmaster, i have no choice or else i'm stuck with shitty seats
DAMN THE MAN!!!
slaveish Posted - 08/09/2004 : 11:41:02
It might be best to go directly to the box office and possibly avoid extra charges.
Chip Away Boy Posted - 08/09/2004 : 11:32:47
presale for 42 bucks, thats fuckin robbery
Broken Face Posted - 08/09/2004 : 09:52:30
i think thats a mistake too, esp b/c the Palumbo Center is in Pittsburgh but is incorrectly listed as Philadephia

nevermind. I'm guessing that it's the Palladium in Worcester, MA and it's just incorrectly listed as NYC.
SimbaPenn Posted - 08/09/2004 : 09:34:17
Anyone have any idea about those two NYC shows at Palladium. I've never heard of a place by that name. I think there used to be a club called that in the 70s/80s, and there's a restaurant with that name.

Broken Face Posted - 08/09/2004 : 07:03:14
ticketmaster presale for the 12/12 date, $42, Thursday 9am-9pm

Hooray! I'm there...

Now we just need final confirmation, ticket prices, and where to buy 'em.
Broken Face Posted - 08/09/2004 : 06:24:53
according to Pitchfork, the Dec. 12th show is being opened by TV on the Radio. I'll have to pay off my credit card this week so i can get tickets to all 4 shows!
