There are rumours that the Pixies will be co-headlining the big day out (australian, new zealand tour )with the Beastie Boys in 2005, from the (www.bigdayout.com) board. From experience (ie from the last few years ive been monitoring) this is often true. So us Australian/MZ fans can just hope tht this is true..!

I don't like this whole playing with the Beastie Boys, Radiohead, and RHCP thing. I'd much rather see the Pixies in the indie scene, personally.

Although it would be amazing, the big day out website is the worst site for things like that, don't even bother going there. Stupid suckers go there, make a post "I have inside info from [insert band here's] manager/groupie/friend/guy who sat next to roadie on plane, they are PLAYING BDO 2004!!!!!". The reason that "this is often true" is the carpet bomb effect; sure if you say 1000 bands names, chances are a few may play. While I agree it would be amazing if the Pixies were to play, and play some concerts on their own at the same time, I am not holding my breath because some tool on the Big Day Out forum said it might happen.

I knew they would be coming to BDO! Joey Santiago even hinted at it in an interview to Richard Kingsmill on JJJ last night. And with news about more new Pixies songs about to be announced, this reunion is shaping up very nicely!

p.s. I thought the Pixie-reunion skeptics (i.e. Nimrod's son) would had been proved wrong by now...if it wasn't for the Pixies, hardly anyone would know who Frank Black was...

Nooooooooooo! Sorry, I know it's about time Frank came to Australia, but I can't stand the thought of this Pixies thing going into 2005 (read the sig).
