Posted - 06/30/2004 : 14:44:05 Well, as far as I remember, Frank asked Kim which Pixies song was recorded at the Hansa Studios in Berlin... And in my opinion, two full sentences coming out of Frank's mouth between songs is truly a lot
Still, the whole show was GRRRREAT, and american zero's review says it all. Thanks for the setlist, as well!

Posted - 06/30/2004 : 07:12:01 Last night was great, only letdown was the stagecrew rigging down the equipment just seconds after the band left the stage, while thousands of people still stood there clapping and wanting more. They played for approximately one and a half hour, but managed to squeeze in 27 songs and two encores. Very little talk with the audience, only a "Hello" at the start of the concert from Kim and her asking "Did anyone go to see the Stooges last night?" and raising her hand indicating that she did. The only thing I remember Frank said was "Here is some Pixies trivia for you Kim, which song did the Pixies record at Fort Apache" or something similar directed at Kim, she answered "Blown Away" and there was silence on stage for some seconds. Then Frank said "That was supposed to be a clever intro, Dave" and he was like "oh yeah, crap" and started the drum intro to "Blown Away"
Joey did a very cool solo during "Vamos" where he got feedback on the guitar, took it off his shoulder and put it on a guitar rack and stood next to it and fooled around with the guitar pedals before playing the guitar with a drum stick that David tossed to him, when he was finished with it he tossed it back to David who caught it in mid-drumming, which received a big cheer from the audience. Joey also played the guitar with a beer bottle during "Into The White."
The biggest cheer throughout the night probably came when the original set was over, and everyone thought they would leave the stage. Instead they just went to the front and stood there on display while Frank slowly drank from a beer bottle. When they had stood there long enough for everyone to think "How cool, instead of going off-stage for two minutes and then come back, like every other band does, they just take a break and stand there instead" they just left, hehe. And came back two minutes later
Setlist was posted in the setlist thread last night, but here it is again:
