I was just curious, if anyone knows (firsthand or otherwise) what the setlist was when they played the Rockwave festival in Athens (6/21), I would very much like to know. I have a few friends that went there and I'm itching to hear the lowdown on the setlist but the bastards are MIA.

mun chien andalusia-- i'm counting on you man! i know you must have gone to this show!!

i liked all the songs, i really can't decide my favourite...but i was really hoping that they would play more...:(((
and yeay i taped everything but the half i bleed and all velouria..(i paused the recording without knowing it!) and at www.avopolis.gr note all the songs they played(not in the correct order) and all over the world wasn't there...
not to offend you but is there a chance to confuse this song with another one?

Sabbas I don't know anyone who's taped it but I saw a couple of kids taping so a video definatelly exists, which song you liked from their set? apart from All over the world! :))
AlekEiffel Posted - 06/29/2004 : 00:57:34
u sure u taped everything? I wish someone from the band could clear this up cause it's possible I'm disillusional and yes I'am getting older but imagining they played songs they didn't? where was I?
All over the world was played, I'll stand by that until proven wrong

they will be playing more festivals, google for more info

Damn it :( The truth is I wont be able to see the pixies until I get my drivers license which I have to wait a year to do but it would still be nice if they played that especially for future disclive cds

AlekEiffel Posted - 06/27/2004 : 14:37:19
Ed is dead they played that too and Vamos but I wasn't sure about Ed that's why I didn't write it. All over the world was definatelly played , so you were the one that they yelled at and told to put down the camera by that security guy? did you record Frank Black tripping on chords during the second song?

Their live sound is AWESOME, on record lots of things are missed
Great players all of them. I bleed and Isla de Encanta were my favorites from that show.

P.S I was facing Kim Deal the whole time cause she was very near and
if I weren't singing or talking to my friends the rest of the time was spend grinning and making funny faces to her, she's great fun
Levitated Posted - 06/26/2004 : 08:01:55
uumm.. so they skipped ''the ranger'' part. Well I don't know if that's good or bad, but I hope they keep playing it, and complete. :D

Yeah!! there MUST be a bootleg of the show with a lovely soundboard recording though an audience recording is also welcome.
AlekEiffel Posted - 06/26/2004 : 03:38:38
they skipped the latter part of the song and kicked into another one but they sure sang it cause I remember singing it too, the verse, I didn't know the rest of it , it's one of their songs I hardly noticed but to hear it live made me like it 100 times more, very nice atmosphere they created with it , I saw a couple of miniature silver Cannon's in the audience recording everything besides the on stage camera , more later cause I have to get dressed for work
TheSnake Posted - 06/26/2004 : 02:10:47
Don't know if they really played it, it would be incredible.

But they've already played it on the Bossanova tour, I've got a bootleg of this tour. I don't know how is the better way to give it to people who is interested. I got it in my files on Soulseek, my user name is simply (and modestly).... "Frankblack".
If there is an easy way to make the song available to more people, just say it.

I can't believe it
it was noted that the they played the sad punk
that was unbelievable too
and it didn't happen

please we need somebody else saying they played it

nooooo it can not be possible!!! please tell us that you are sure they DID play all over the world.... please!!!! I'm almost crying!!!
PsychicTwin Posted - 06/25/2004 : 16:26:54
oh yeah, thanks for filling me in, AlekEiffel. much appreciated
PsychicTwin Posted - 06/25/2004 : 16:26:21
All Over The World!!!! Oh you lucky lucky bastard

sounds like it was a great time.
AlekEiffel Posted - 06/25/2004 : 15:37:44
the pixies came on stage around 9:30

first song was
Bone machine followed by
Monkey gone to heaven
U mass
Nimrod's song
Planet of sound
Subacultcha
Broken face
I bleed
Debaser
Here comes your man
Velouria
Caribou
The holiday song
Hey
Isla de Encanta
All over the world

not in that order , also I think I missed a song or two

the encore was

Wave of mutilation
Into the white
Gigantic

and by 10:50 they were gone

I don't care they didn't play Where is my mind? BUT
Is she weird? would of been nice to hear live, lucky Parisians...

they seemed to enjoy themselves and have a good time and maybe they were a bit shocked by the positive Greek response, everyone was dancing, clapping and waving hands, singing everything from Nimrod's song to Isla de Encanta!

Kim was grinning and smiling a lot, drinking and smoking and Black was very serious and on guard, focused too. Very strong voice. Santiago's guitar playing is out of this world, you had to be there. Lovering is a great drummer not a bogus one, the band was tight, they played one song after the other without stopping -- they are better and louder than on record
and by the way Greece just won France 1-0 in football so all's
well around here

Goodnight
