I did'nt leave till about 5, because myself and some friends, having intended to leave in time to catch the Pixies, did'nt reckon on the taxi taking over an hour! On arriving at Phoenix Park, the Pixies had just started, but of course there's that MILES long walk through the park to contand with!! Disappointed and angry with myself, I arrived just after 'Veloria', I think. After several failed attempts to get down the front without a wristband, I headed back into the crowd(It's pretty hard to sneak past security guards doing they're job so zealously!). Anyway, predictably the band were not very communicative with the audience. The lack of an encore was disappointing, and I missed the new song( Did'nt they play it?). Actually, I did'nt recognise 'In Heaven' with KD's vocals and Joey's eerie lead at first, and thought it was a new tune! After about the sixth song of the Chilli's set, I got fed up and left. As I walked back through the park with an ice cream and the last of the evening sun, I actually did'nt feel too bad-the crowd was so big you could hardly see the band or the screens in the crowd, and it's not the ideal venue for them. But if they quit after this tour, will there ever be the chance to see them live again? Sigh....

Posted - 06/15/2004 : 03:01:20 I'll probably never forgive myself for being late, but then again I'm sure a lot of people could'nt even see the band on stage with such a huge crowd and such a big venue. I could hear two of my favorites-'No.13 Baby' and 'Dead'-being played in succession on the way there! People seem to have forgotten 'Dead' in the Dublin setlist topic, but I definetely heard it! I thought I might of missed the new song when I heard about it. So, have they played it live yet?
