Remember how you felt in 92, after you skipped the U2 tour because you didn't want to pay $35 to see Pixies for 1/2 hour opening for U2 and bono's christ-like poses? Then they broke up...and I kicked myself. Seen 4 of the warmup shows and I'm scheduled to see 5 of the fall shows. But what I'd really like is to see the FB&TCs again.

i too started off with COR, and it meant i remained uninspired by franks work until i got hold of pistolero when that came out.

so yeah, don't start with COR.
i'd definitey start with DITS if i was a new fan now...it would blow me away.

I started off with COR, which is a little hard going to start off with I guess. I'd go back at start from the beginning with the self titled album and then go through each one chronologically. If you didn't want to do that then Dog In The Sand, SMYT, or Teenager of the Year would be the easiest on your ears.

i just had a quick listen to the US nadine single and listening to the live songs on that cd sent shivers down my spine - which i haven't got from the disclive cd's.

the keyboarded version of gouge away is quite possibly the best song i have ever heard.

I agree Benji, the keyboard throughout Gouge Away is so fitting that it's on a par if not better than the original. I have a few other bootlegs with different versions of Gouge with keyboard.... all are very good.

Ya, a solo performance would be neato.

Agreed - the gig with The Catholics and the solo gig last year were comfortably the best 2 gigs I've been at. Much as I'm looking forward to seeing the Pixies, I'll be desperate to see Frank either on his own or with the Catholics sometime soon.

Amen to that - I find myself reaching for the FB and Cs CDs every day now. I love the Pixies, but there is a sense of standing still in reverence at the moment.

Bring on FBF and Honeycomb is all I say (and a new Breeders album wouldn't go a miss either)

I agree, with all this Pixies commotion I just want to see Frank Black /FB&C again
