When did Frank play solo in the Temple Bar Music Centre please don't say any time after October because that means I missed it and I'll cry and pout.

Yes. Yes it was.

Rumours, feckin' rumours.

What's with all these Pixies/Dublin rumours?
I'm hearing Marlay Park at some point in late summer and I'm also hearing indoor somewhere in January!
All complete bullshit?
Anybody got anything concrete to report?
Would be class though!

No point in mentioning these bats, I thought. Poor bastard will see them soon enough.

saw it too. nice bitg shot of frank. of course, he beats anthony kiedis and his copy of kim's hairstyle anyday.

they got the keys to the city but we got a lotta shakin in our hips!

Just had a very quick look at Hot Press in a shop. Fairly short review. More or less treated the Pixies as the star attraction, said they were great, blah, etc. Proper order.

benji Posted - 06/22/2004 : 04:57:47
man, you guys were soo far away from the stage.....
that musta sucked big time.

damn those big-assed concerts aye...

You Know You Want To!
lonely persuader Posted - 06/22/2004 : 04:46:44
opps, sorry about that, its probably a bit of depression after the climatic week and all.... realising that we'll prob. have to travel alot further if we wanna see them again....
Brackish Girl Posted - 06/21/2004 : 15:19:51
i can't believe your letting this thread die! i come back after two days and it's away down the thread list. shame on ye.

Hey - tanx v much for the pics, they rock!
I took in my digital camera - my photos didn't turn out great, but I'll upload them for you all pretty soon anyways...
planetofsound Posted - 06/19/2004 : 23:44:38
OK, well i got some pictures as well from this great concert. But since they were made with a throw-away camera and i was standing in the "field-pit" (outside the first two pits) they don't show much details of the band on stage.
So i just uploaded a few, plus some pics from the people around me. Maybe you'll recognize your face if you were there in the same area ! ;)

You can check them at http://public.fotki.com/planetofsound/

For those who weren't there: if you add the distance to the stage with the distance to the back on picture #4 you'll see how massive it was. Over 100.000 people....

Yeah, its brilliant!!! After a wait so long.....
Still dying to get audio of the gig...anyone else had any luck?
I found some Pixies radio stuff that was left off the BBC cd, some of its pretty cool - has Motorway To Rosswell (love that!)
I'd luv to hear some more live TLM era stuff, so hard to find tho..

Can't believe that the gig was a whole week ago, that was definately the most exciting musical experience of my life. When they walked out, it was so unreal - felt like someone had hit me, burst out cryin! Best day ever
holidaysong Posted - 06/19/2004 : 03:41:32
Don't feel guilty Brackish Girl - it's there own fault for not making it available to us legally! It's good ain't it. What a week - see the pixies live and hear a new song from them!

I agree, this thread will become "The King Holds Court II" ... ;-)

Anyone see a hotpress review of the gig yet?

The girl that got on our coach had asthma, she was begging for an inhaler, saying she was looking for one the whole concert and it was driving her nuts. If thats her, which it probably wasnt, she got one - You can sleep easy.

OK, this is getting beyond a joke ... I know someone, somewhere was intelligent enough to get an audio recording of this (seeing as I wasn't) ... Please, Please, PLEASE just say that there is one somewhere (",)

It's a little something I like to call Rock 'N' Roll
Mr_Toxic Posted - 06/17/2004 : 13:13:17
mcneillr.. I simply have to get every piecce of video you have.. I tried to audio tape it but there were pits breaking out everywhere behind the pit barriers and so my mics kept falling off... Please transfer it to DVD please? or at least VHS/VCD?? I can trade you many other Pixies shows if you want!! look at http://db.etree.org/ToolAddict for the list I simply must have it!!

Can honestly say that even after 7 years in London nothing compares to the front rows at an Irish Pixies/FB gig.

I'm starting to think I was better off where I was (bout 6 or 7 rows back from the 3rd barrier, bit to the right of Kim when it started, but that changed after a bit of pogoing). Couldn't see shit, but got to jump about and sing with a good few people who were into it as much as I was.

Two things I saw that someone else here might have - during the bouncing, some guy with a crutch appeared from nowhere saying 'mind the bad leg lads'. Myself and a couple of others just looked at each other stunned. And I saw some lad with a burger stuffed into his mouth that had been on the ground - looked like it was full of grass and muck. Lurvely.

It's so great to hear Irish fans talking about the gig - I've been going on about it all week and I'm driving all my friends crazy! Hope this thread keeps going......
Any sign of an audio recoding anywhere?
