Am I the only one who is having big ongoing problems with this lot and getting no respone to my tickets and emails?

I ordered both Vancouver shows on 28th April - still no sign - a friend at work ordered a week later than me and received his disks over a week ago! I have tried to get an update from Disclive since Monday following the instructions on the site but have heard absolutely nothing.

Yesterday I decided - probably against my better judgement - to go for the Brixton box set. This morning I thought 'Great I'll download last night's show then at least I'll have something' using the Netburn link.

I followed the instructions and...... well guess what......up pops a message saying 'no recorder found' For the record 'Netburn' I have two recorders and both work absolutely perfectly!

What makes it worse is that the link to the first disk of the show is now dead - and the support for this or any other problems about Netburn recorder or anything else for that matter is?

Yes the same ticketing system from which I am getting no response to my other query!

Why no faq - don't tell me that you haven't had problems related to the software before!

Didn't the site say you'll get a prompt response'?

I am currently over $170 out of pocket having received no product and I live in the UK so it is difficult to call them - so to say that I am unhappy is a major understatement!

Has anyone else had a real heck of a time trying to download the netburn files? Mine keep freezing anywhere from 1MB - 4MB in....

Also, why is IE6 required for these files?

Finally, although I'm sure I already know the answer, why not just give MP3s in the first place? You can always re-rip the songs off the burned CDs so copy-protection wise you are no better off....

Sorry, I forgot to mention it's the Thrusday night show, disc 2 that I'm having problems with. Once again, any idea what might be causing the app error? I've burned three out of four discs (2 for the Friday night) and Thursday disk 2 is the only one causing problems. Please help! I'm far too impatient to wait for my disc live CD :(

No difference - exactly the same...

Thanks!

My first disc dowloaded and burned fine, albeit with the already mentioned gaps, but my second cd gets to the point where all tracks are unbundled and just about to burn and then causes an application error forcing me to terminate. I tryed shutting down all background prgs, re-seting, trying a different blank cd etc but still no joy. I really don't want to have to download it again as I'm on 56k and theres other peole who need to use the phone around here! Any ideas?

Hi,

Has your question been addressed yet?

If you don't mind letting me know the email you posted your query under, I'll be happy to research that for you.

Thanks!

Finally found a burner that Netburn recognised and burned the discs, no probs.

Really can't complain about the quality of the recording or anything - absolutely spine tingling (but thats more down to the disclive boys!)

Oh well, happy now, and I have to admit Netburn answered my ticket darned quick, issuing me with links to the mp3s - which fortunately I didn't need

I ordered the Brixton 4th and 5th shows. I also had the message 'No CD burner found'. I have a Liteon CD burner, which I would have thought to be VERY common, but it wasn't recognised.
So I had to save the exe (as opposed to clicking open or run) and then copy it to my laptop via my home network. I could then burn it no problem. Sounds great!

I have now had contact about Vancouver and hopefully that will be sorted out.

Thanks to Zach and Heather from Disclive and to Paul from Netburn in particular who has been great.

Still can't wait to actually get the disks though!

Utterly useless - sorry guys but I'm talking about a DELL and a Sony here, not some tin pot pc - how can you expect people to have faith in technology like this if it is so flawed? I really want to be able to rave about stuff like this - but it's hard when it fails soooo badly.

I've defended Disclive on the forum alot, they really understimated the task at hand with shipping, and I can well empathise, but the technology here seems to be flawed and untested, and its painful to see.

Hope netburn can change my opinion soon

Why not just email them, get a ticket and then just download the ZIP files with the MP3s in it. I did this after the 2nd disk failed to burn. Not difficult, a little inconvenient, but it works for me.

hah, how annoying but funny.

problem with netburn > reset links > new downloads don't work > let me download zip of mp3s > successfully get disc one but disc two is contains the same mp3s as disc one > awaiting resolution.
PixieSteve Posted - 06/05/2004 : 11:21:15
i emailed for help about my problem (first disc causing an illegal operation after unbundling, second disc not downloading fully) and they kindly said they'd reset my links. however, only the second disc was reset. anyway, i downloaded it and i got the same illegal operation error message. it recognises my recorder and everything, it just won't burn. i have a blank cd in it and everything... hmmmm.
ITEKCEO Posted - 06/05/2004 : 10:04:04
No problem. We are totally committed to having a lot of happy Pixies fans! The gap issue is internal coding in NetBurn - but we are working on that. No ETA as yet but hopefully for next time around we'll have this worked out. Also we always look for comments and suggestions from everyone. :)

Thanks for the positive words, too!

Wilhelm, if they are indeed MP3s, you should be able to burn a gapless copy by crossfading the tracks about 0.5 seconds give or take. It should be good enough to at least keep you warm at night until you get your CD. :)

EDIT - Apparently the gaps are longer than just the gap that the MP3 format introduces into the audio files, so crossfading without chopping the head/tail of the song down won't work.

On my download copy of the first Brixton show, the last three tracks on disc one are severely marred by static and chopping. Anybody else have the same problem? Thanks.

Greetings. As this is the first and second nights, consecutively, of the first ever delivery of NetBurns soon after a concert, we expect a few issues and are working hard to resolve them as quickly as possible. Our ticketing system is monitored from 10AM EST (US) and 1:00AM EST for the purpose of the Brixton concerts. We do our best to get to tickets as quickly as possible, and if you have not gotten a response, I would ask that you please open the ticket, and include the link of your NetBurn so that your code can be reset.

Unfortunately, with the large variety of CD burners on the market, some recorders are not supported -not many, and in that event, we have a workaround which we would be happy to provide to you.

We are all very excited here at Immediatek and at DiscLive to be able to offer this exciting service, and will be improving our services and product as we move forward. We want it to be as pleasurable as possible, and will respond to your queries during the hours listed above.

Regarding your Vancouver show, please post a new ticket (you may include the info in your NetBurn ticket) and I will make sure that someone takes a look at this ASAP.

Thanks very much for your comments, and we hope to have your issues worked out quickly.

Wilhelm,

There won't be any gaps between tracks on the Disclive CDs. I have just about all of the discs from the American/Canadian warm-up tour...there are no gaps. I am not sure what format the downloads are for the PC side, but if you have a Mac with OSX the files are 128kb AAC (Apple's Advanced Audio Codec). These actually sound quite good, a 128kb standard mp3 won't sound anywhere near as good. I can tell by listening to last nights show in comparison with some of the other shows, that the accoustics of Brixton are excellent..these four recording will be some of the best sounding DiscLive have produced so far.

I had no troubles downloading this morning, just followed the link which I've received via e-mail and all went smoothly. The format has to be mp3, I downloaded in 20 minutes. The only complaint I have is regarding the break betweens tracks. I hope the discs which Disclive sends are without those.

The sound on the cds is very good, excellent performance by the band. Frank still hollers like well only Frank can.
