Posted - 06/15/2004 : 07:17:36 The new song Bam Thwok was just released on Apple's iTunes! It's 2:35. They also have a video of Monkey gone to heaven. Pretty neat, I guess Apple just launched a new pixies section on their service. |

Yup, that's pretty much the story.
... I wonder if this song was written for Shrek 2, personally. :)

Posted - 06/13/2004 : 15:57:39 I'm sure it began I think it began on this site as a joke. Something like 'the band will be touring every European country beginning with a Z'. And the NME picked up on the 'latvian lullaby' thing which followed...
Virgin Radio in the UK is broadcasting David Bowie's set at the Isle of Wight Festival right now. He's playing 'Cactus'! |

"2/23/2004 Pixies Official Word Update, New Press Release Dave Noisy (10:37 PST)
Pixies Update
Here's the latest in our Official Word series:
The Pixies have rehearsed and they will rehearse again in March in a secret location in Los Angeles. Yes, they have decided which tunes they are doing. For the most part, they'll be doing Pixies' tunes. As for new songs, there's a Latvian lullaby, a Czech dirge and a Bulgarian ballad."
A search with the appropriate term(s) should be fruitful.

Posted - 06/13/2004 : 15:06:12 It was a VERY long-running joke about 3 folk ballads (something like one icelandic song, one finnish, one czech - I can't remember). I can't remember the threads, but if the search function happens to work (kudos to ya!) then there should be a lot of stuff in the archives about it. I'll see if I can dig up anything.

I think one of them was 'Bam Thwok' but I'm not too sure. |

Posted - 06/02/2004 : 22:30:03 they were more descriptions of the songs than titles, and they seemed rather sarcastic which led a lot of people to believe they were being led on. shame really. id rather see them play some more stuff off trompe and bossanova before new tracks.
