Posted - 05/06/2004 : 14:20:05 oh word sad punk, i just didnt understand your post, so the radio station is giving away a free track for download, now i get it.... that is kinda messed up, wonder if they got "permission"??..
quote: I don't think they should make any more discs...but I think they should let us share them...otherwise a LOT of people will never get to hear the music. It used to be all about the music...not money....
croutonfuton, i agree that every one who wants to hear the music should, im burning copies of shows for friends and trading them, so im sure anyone who wants to have access to the music can and will, i dont see anyone being able to stop that,
but in terms of artists making money, being a "career" artist is a hard road to travel, and everyone expects artists, especially bands and musicians, to not "sellout" and do it for the money, but the truth of the matter is, they need to pay bills too, so especially when an artist does produce some spectacular work, i say let them get paid....perhaps the pixies are long overdue a few paychecks:)..... its a shaky thing though cuz then if an artist is financially successful with a formula it is often too tempting to repeat that formula to be safe, as opposed to go off further on a tangent of unexplored territory that may or may not be marketable...
what a fine line to walk, i wonder where the pixies are gonna take this reunion?!..... now im just blabbing....

i think they should def NOT make those shows available for download nor release more copies, that was the point of the limited edition numbered series...

Posted - 05/05/2004 : 22:16:04 They're contract to the numbers we see available...the only way they can produce more is if the Pixies authorize it.
