i just traded for the 89 rodon club, athens, greece dvd, and it's awesome. just skimmed through it so far, but noticed they played tony's theme, and as i heard it, i realized that i don't think i've ever heard it live before, it was great. it was one i hoping to hear on the warm ups, but even back in the day, was this a song they played much live?? just wondering. i'm starting to go through my boots to see if i have it else where.

thanks

We have an archived (I presume) thread called Worst Pixies Song or something to that effect, and I think FB either read/quoted it on the radio or posted Tony's Theme... I should go look that up.

I was wondering what was on that bonus disc....is it a good quality live recording? It's only $16.99 (canadian) so i might pick it up, hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Why is 'monosyllabic' such a long word?

didn't someone say they asked Dave Lovering before a show if they could play Tony's Theme and he said "no chance".. i guess it's not in the recent lineup.

it's one of my faves.. especially live, and because my name is Tony. how can i not like it?

I've seen them close with it a couple of times leaving the audience chanting "TO-NY!! TO-NY !!!"

we were right and he was right to agree, it sucks. it certainly does now. i'm glad they're not playing it.

now if only he'd look at the threads about which songs we'd most like to hear...

MOTORWAY TO ROSWELL!!!! For fucks sake!!!

Is it like today? Oh, oh, oh-oh. Then there followed days with kings, empires and revolutions. blood just looks the same when you open the veins. sometimes it was faith, power or reason as the cornerstone. but the furrowed brow has never left his face. he said, how did it come to this?

I believe the word FB used regarding TT was "stink". It's on the BBC Radio Six interview he did; have a feeling it's still archived on that station's website.

And of course, let's have them play Tony's Theme during the reunion, and forget any ideas about them playing a few more songs from Bossanova or Trompe Le Monde.... ;-)

where did he said that?
and why is he listening to us?
I don't want us to have that sort of influence
Tony's Theme does not suck, frank!
So I guess it's back on the setlist now

Yeah, recently Frank said he was browsing FB.net and noticed in one of the 3 thousand "worst pixies song" threads that Tony's Theme was a high contendor at which point he thought "yeah that song does kinda suck". It's an example of a song that's amazing live though, I think it just gets a week rendition on SF (though it by no means sucks).
