they could play anywhere.
why would they do it? i say save your $50 and do what i'm going to do.
go down to the show and stand outside the fence you will hear the whole show for free.
anyone who has seen a concert there will agree.

Just checked ticketmaster, on sale 5/08/04 - 9:30am. BOO YA!

Why is 'monosyllabic' such a long word?

I don't get sound on my computer at work and I don't have a computer at home so i go to record shops around town and try to have a listen to as much new stuff as possible, time consuming though. I will have to have a go at death cab, I've heard other people say good things.

Death Cab is getting some mainstream attention right now, which is great to see.

They sound like....a piece of heaven. :) They have this one song, called "transatlanticism" off of their album that is named "transatlanticism" as well, which gives me the chills everytime I listen to it. You should try downloading that, as well as "photobooth" and "a movie script ending."

Plaza of nations = 5,000 tops, outdoor venue, mostly undercover though.

Who do Death Cab sound like, never heard them.

I live in Bend and the venue is outdoors. Never been there so can't say what the sound is like, but I already bought my ticket (of course). Was surprised as hell to learn this is the first stop on their Fall tour. Bend's a pretty small town and we rarely ever get any good bands here. Can't wait till September!

Oh, and Death Cab For Cutie ("plus special guests") are confirmed as the opening act for the Bend show. Not sure about Vancouver though.

damn that venue is big, i just checked their website and it says it can hold 10,000+

glad i busted out to see them in smaller venues while i had the chance:)

still will be a good show im sure, lets hope they bust more songs out of the catalog btw now and then :)

Oh yeah, pure speculation, but there were rumours circulating that Death Cab For Cutie was going to open for The Pixies next time they were in Vancouver. I don't know how credible this is.

I wonder how fast tickets will be sold out this time...The Plaza is a pretty big venue.

Tickets are on sale this saturday? wow that is early... better be on the ball then! ;) The Plaza isn't that bad a venue. I saw ben harper there, he sounded pretty damn good. However since they do have a glass roof overtop you often get a lot of echo's happening, especially when the electric guitars are turned way up... acoustic guitars sound great in there though...

yea this saturday,

im going to see the Roots and Thievery Corp on may 28th there so ill report on what i think of the sound and venue...

Tickets are on sale THIS SATURDAY RIGHT?
marbleslinger Posted - 05/03/2004 : 18:46:32
yeah its outdoors right??

much prefer inside venues, no doubt.

bumbershoot is outdoors, and i must say the sound is not very good on their main stage either...

wonder about the venue in Bend OR, if its outdoors or what.....
either way ill go to wherever the Pixies play in the northwest:)

I can't say I'm too excited about the venue choice though, I have a buddy who went to the Strokes instead of coming with us to Saskatoon and he complained pretty hard about the sound at The Plaza of Nations. I told him it must be hard to make The Strokes sound good but he insisted it was the venue. ;)
