Posted - 05/02/2004 : 03:32:02 i have the worst luck ever. when the pixies are playing in the states i'm travelling through europe. when the pixies are playing in europe i'm going to be in the states. after their europe tour i'll be back home in the states and would like to travel to see them play in dallas (next stage oct 17), and houston (reliant arena oct 19). are these venues any good? i live in california and the berkley shows are sold out and i don't want to drive all the way up north to not get any tickets... anyways are these two places big, small? any info would be appreciated as it'll cost me a pretty penny to fly out to texas and hotels etc... thanks. |

Also, it's worth the trip to Texas. I flew to California last week, payed a shitload of cash, and hung out in the hot, dry fucking desert to see the Pixies. It kicked ass.

Posted - 05/12/2004 : 08:55:24 It has a small pit area but it is 98% seats. Not sure if the Pit area is sold out yet but I'm guessing they are because the pit area is very small in that venue.

Posted - 05/12/2004 : 04:10:47 Is the Next Stage all seating, or is "the pit" standing? I looked at the map of the place on ticketmaster and it seemed like it was all seating. I'd prefer there to be a standing area to a show like the Pixies. |

Posted - 05/11/2004 : 22:02:51 I got pit tickets to the Dallas show. I'm excited but I wish the Pixies would have played in a smaller place. I saw the White Stripes at Next Stage. It was a good show but I had seats. I find it hard to get into rock shows with assigned seats but, the Pixies are good anyway. It's true there isn't a bad seat at Next Stage (capacity 6,000,I believe), the venue sounds great but there is only one parking lot and it is $12. I will also see the Pixies in Austin at the Austin City Limits ( www.aclfest.com ). See you in the pit. |

Posted - 05/04/2004 : 09:28:28 Just saw this thread. NextStage is a wonderful venue. Its not a bar, its a mini-arena for lack of a better term. Not a bad seat in the house and all spanking new. Good sound as well. I would rather see them in a bar with 1,000 people, but, if they are going to a slightly bigger venue, they picked the best in the area.
