Well, finally some good news for me...it seems they will be playing at the CEPSUM arena. This arena has a capacity of 7000 (ouch!)[dang you lucky bastards who got to see them in a club], but I am glad nonetheless....there seems to be a good sized hole between Montreal and Phillie so I guess they will pay the east-coast a visit afterall.....so I do not know when the tickets will go on sale, but, I will keep it posted here.
If anyone has some advanced info on this concert, post it here also.

Try posting on www.montrealshows.com to see if anyone has extra tickets for sale.

I imagine you'll be able to get some tickets from somebody though as November approaches.

The show is sold out!

My wife is a huge Frank fan and we just found out about the show today (5/23). She hasn't seen Frank since she was pregnant, and our daughter is now 2 1/2!

She MUST go...Any help on locating a pair of tix would be appreciated.

Wow. I didn't have the internet for a couple weeks so I guess I missed the announcement of the concert and the tickets going on sale. Luckily there were still some available - this is incredible.

If you have money there is always the west island for montreal.. more suburb most the majority is english.

He bought me a soda and tried to molest me in the parking lot?
Manny Posted - 05/14/2004 : 18:57:15
Hey eebee.

You will have no problem with the language here. Almost everyone speaks english and you will be able to get around just fine. That being said, you can take night classes to brush up on your french.

As for neighbourhoods... I recommend the Plateau du Mont-Royal or Mile End. It will have everything you need and want (restaurants, venues, etc.) and it's not too far from downtown.

For work, well it's sometimes a bit more difficult for non-bilingual people to find work. However you will be able to find work. Even if it's in a call center... not that I recommend that..

Message me again in september when you're here and I'll show you some good places to eat.

Hey Montreal Guys...can you help a UK Guy out.

Ok im taking my gap year in Canada and im planning to move to live and work in montreal from late august to late december

Can anyone help me out with some info on jobs and accomadation there

Im currently taking a few courses in french but obviously im not going to be as fluent as id like to be/ or as adequate without slaughtering the language

Where would you guys recommend? I hear there's more english quarters of the city. I really hope to stay there as it would be an excellent experience. without being hopefully being completly lost

Any advice/help would be great as its dawning on me i really should get my act together in sorting this out.

On another note ive also got tickets for toronto and montreal woo!

ahem; edit due to my english not being up to scratch

Just got my Montreal tickets. We should definitely plan something before the show, but yeah it's probably too early now.

subacultura Posted - 05/07/2004 : 17:14:02
Hey MattB, did you get your tickets?
I know it,s a bit early for that, but we definitely have to arrange a pre-show
forum party.
BoomChickABoom Posted - 05/07/2004 : 09:19:46
I just ordered my tickets. THANKS brickisred.
brickisred Posted - 05/07/2004 : 08:51:17
This may be your connection.
It still looks pretty fast to me.
mattb Posted - 05/07/2004 : 08:30:41
holy shit, their ticket site is congested. It's taking like a minute for each page to load.

I just did!

Yesss!
the best part is it's on a friday,
2 days to party after the show!

I heard this yesterday, and there's already a buzz around this event.
what is this ticketpro? I usually use Admission.
anyway, I will keep an eye on this.

For those who don't know,
CEPSUM is a hockey arena with seats only on one side, plenty of room to dance on the main floor. I saw Beck there a couple of years ago and it was rockin!

broue Posted - 04/28/2004 : 13:06:31
According to someone from the montrealshows.com board, the tickets will be on sale next Saturday (may 8) on ticketpro + stores
Manny Posted - 04/27/2004 : 17:06:07
Wicked. I knew that if we waited long enough we'd hear about this show. It's strange to think they're playing at my university's sports centre.

Mattb, once again you're welcome to crash at my place if you make the trip up for this show. I'll probably still be going to T.O. if I can.

BoomChickABoom Posted - 04/27/2004 : 14:02:29
The Pixies in my town, that's a very good news !!! I received my tickets for the Toronto show so I will go see The Pixies twice this week of November. Totally Awsome!

Please let us know when and where to buy tickets for this Montreal show.

Well, the CEPSUM arena is not so bad but I would prefer the Metropolis or the Club Soda.
