Posted - 04/26/2004 : 18:36:24 Well, I'm going through Pixies withdrawal and I think I might try to go down to Bumbershoot to see them but I'm a little confused with the ticket/wristband concept. Does anybody have any more detailed info that is not listed on the Bumbershoot website. From what I gather I can get a free wristband when I purchase my Day Pass for $15. Is there a limited number of Day Passes? Is the Alaskaair.com Stage gigantic? Is it first ome first serve on the day of the show? Help?

(considering I spent so much on ebay tickets!!!) |

Posted - 04/26/2004 : 18:59:26 hey im going down to bumbershoot too,
i've gone to this festival for many years now, basicly its at the Seattle Center which is around the Space Needle, there are all sorts of venues going simultaneous from outdoor venues to indoor, bigger ones to smaller etc...
the Pixies are scheduled to headline the Stadium venue one night,
each day there are wristbands given out which are necessary to get in to the main headlining acts in the stadium that night, the amount of wristbands is limited to the capacity of the stadium, but the stadium is quite large so its relatively easy to get a wristband without stressing out,
they key is this, show up to the festival when the gates open, pay your fee, walk in and get a wristband, then you could even just leave the festival if you didnt want to stay for whatever reason and come back for the pixies and be all set....
the Stadium venue there is outdoors, and the sound quality is less to be desired for, ive seen David Lee Roth, Ani DiFranco, Maceo Parker, Black Crowes, Mos Def, jurassic 5, Dilated peoples in the stadium at bumbershoot, and one thing i know is you have to get real close to hear good sound....
we are lucky they are not playing the indoor arena there, i waited forever to try to see ween there and by the time we got near the door they were done, the stadium is large enough that anyone who wants to get in does and the wirstband removes stress, its like a ticket....
see ya there,

Posted - 04/26/2004 : 18:52:13 you buy your pass, go into bumbershoot, then there will be booths with wristbands and you go up and tell them you want one. do it early in the day and you will have no problem, im not exactly sure what the alaskaair stage is like...but usually the headlining acts that require wristbands have a pretty enormous area and--while they are limited, if you want it badly enough you should be able to get it just fine.
