Greetings...

I finally decided to bring my camera to a show. I was right against the barrier last night, just about directly in front of Kim, and I snapped a bunch of pictures.

I deleted the blurriest ones and saved the rest for you here:

http://www.damndirtyape.net/pixies2004

They're hosted on my home server, so if they're a little slow to load, it's probably because a few people are hitting the page, or I'm downloading a lot of porn or something.

Enjoy!

Thanks, Vespa; I'll probably hawk them today. I use Movable Type to blog at my own site: www.tlhines.com. Where's your LiveJournal blog?

Don't worry about creating a new area, just post under Pixies-Live. I'll sort 'em myself. =)

Not at all... Please just credit me in some way, even if you just say "I horked these from some dude on the FB forum".

Where do you blog? I'm a LiveJournal man, myself.

Gorilla and Rabbit are obviously the White Stripes in disguise. Jack Gorilla even has the same guitar, and Meg Rabbit has a similar simple drum setup.
Also note the only clothing seen; a red and white shoe of Rabbit's. Oh, I've got them sussed.

Excellent pics by the way Vespa.

It's getting colder....

I hate to admit, but my drunkass/dumbass friend threw *both* of his socks to that side of the stage, so that's very likely one of his. When asked why the hell one would throw dirty socks at the band?! He had no good answer, although I'd be inclined to blame the MD 20/20 he drank on the way out from Montana... Sheesh.

Rambling asides aside, thanks much for the great pictures!

Okay, I saw him inside before the show started. I thought they [Mu Meeson] were kind of a cool band...they ended up headlining the night I saw them at the B-Side since Woke Up Falling had to cancel...some interesting ideas...they really dig those guitar pedals don't they? I was wondering if that was his hat that ended up on the stage next to Kim (Ha; just kidding, but it looked like the style of hat he wears).

Still no word from my Inlander buddy regarding his 'professional' digital photos. He's kind of a lazy ass though, so I'm not holding my breath.

Mr Burger already answered for me, but yeah, the Mu Meson dudes are good friends of ours. In fact, the frontman (Kris) was also at the concert.

Hey guys, thanks for posting the photo links. From those pictures Vespa, it appears that I was just a bit to the left of your position. Note in the one titled "Kim Again" you can see the sock and hat that sat on the stage near her during most of the set.

Great picture of Gorilla and Rabbit too. Those guys are friends of mine. As a matter of fact, the guy I was standing next to during the show is the fellow who supplied the suits for them (he got the gorilla at an estate sale and the rabbit during the liquidation when The Crescent department store went out of business).

Hey Graham, I noticed you were wearing a Mu Meeson shirt. Do you know those guys? I saw them play at the B-Side just a few weeks ago (the show that took place the same night that Death Cab played at the Big Easy).

My buddy from the Inlander was the other person snapping photos in pit in front of the stage. If he gets around to uploading them to a website somewhere, I'll try to alert everybody here.

A lady from the Spokesman Review was in front of my friends and I during most of the concert, the 4th one on the slideshow for the paper ( http://www.spokesmanreview.com/news/live/pixies/photo4.asp ) is pretty great! I just want to share with everyone that moment of pure joy we had. There are other cool pictures (one of me and my friend Melissa, and one just of her) and of course some cool shots of the band in question.

nice pictures.

i hate to say it but i think my favorite one is the Gorilla and Rabbit photo. that's great. i think those guys could go places..

(what's up with downtown Spokane being so uncrowded on a Saturday afternoon?)
vespa59 Posted - 04/25/2004 : 22:22:37
Thanks! I was surprised I got so many good shots. I had decided to shoot mostly with no flash. I didn't want to be the one to blame for Kim getting distracted! So, I had to hold really still, which is not easy at the front of that crowd!
