Posted - 04/22/2004 : 18:05:38 It is now a famous if little-known fact that when Charles Thompson and Joey Santiago formed the Pixies, an ad was placed in the paper saying, "seeking bassist and drummer who enjoy Husker Du and Peter, Paul and Mary."
I just want to point out that while they were setting up the stage after the opening band in Minneapolis, the house music playing was Peter, Paul, and Mary. When they were setting up the stage in Winnipeg after HAM they were playing Husker Du.
Seems to be sort of an inside joke for hardcore fans. Did they do the same thing at any of the other shows, did anyone notice?

What's your connection to the band? How is it that you were in the hotel with them?

Posted - 04/22/2004 : 23:38:59 Yeah, in Saskatoon they were playing Husker Du before the opener and PPM between the opener and the Pixies. I think. Or maybe it was Husker Du in Winnipeg and PPM here. In any case, both in good amounts.
