Posted - 04/17/2004 : 23:00:49 Has anyone seen any difference in the "Custom" cover art for each show. I haven't been able to locate pics of the other two shows yet to see myself. What's different on them? |

And here's a current Winnipeg one in case anyone cares... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=307&item=4007971048&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
to be fair to the seller, the first bid was for $0.01 ($0.99 for the winnipeg one) - you've got to be some kind of nutter to bid up past $100 for a cd like this ! Imagine if you wanted the set ? i'm glad i've got my order in for 3 cds for different dates at $22 a disc + $14 shipping to the UK.

Posted - 04/19/2004 : 02:05:01 I thought there would be photos digitally on the disc or as an insert of something. I was disappointed by the custom artwork thing....we'd EXPECT the town name and date would be different. Lame. |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 16:05:07 As far as importing photographs and doing the layout and whatnot, I could see them having something ready to go if they took pictures from the first fifteen minutes of the show or so. There are programs that could easily place imported digital photos into the proper locations and whatnot and have something ready to print out rather quickly. However, the overall printing time, and making sure it's a quality print job would take a significant amount of both time and space on their rig.

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 14:01:22 These covers had to all be printed a week or two before the shows. I didn't expect the CDs to show specific photos on them or the setlists from the shows. And I half expected the "show specific artwork" to be the date change. But changing the foil color are the cardstock color could have made them all standout from one another. Using different "Pixies" typefaces or something. |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 12:50:05 doesn't everybody think it would be pretty difficult to have disc artwork with setlist/photos from that night on them?? how could take the pictures, scan/import, manipulate the layout and print all the sleeves in that night? i guess they could, but certainly not within 20 mins. i, for one, am not the least bit surprised with the artwork. it all has to be printed up/packaged in advance of the night in question.

And, much to my dismay, the backs of the live CD's list Mr. Black with the Frank prefix, rather than the far more appropriate "Black Francis: Vocals, Guitars".
I figured that was a political statement to put Frank Black rather than Black Francis. |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 10:27:11 Wasn't that $172.50 ebay auction for the Minneapolis one? I saw a Winnipeg one for auction last night that had reached $51.00

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 10:09:13 Some guy from Grand Forks just got $172.50 US on eBay for his disclive copy of the Winnipeg show. I wonder if it was the same guy who was sitting beside me. We met after I dumped his beer on myself. Apparently he paid $200 US per ticket for his two seats. Ouch.

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 09:35:49 I don't know about appropriate, but I was kind of hoping he'd go as Black Francis. I'd be just that much more pumped about the whole thing. |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 02:24:54 I thought the same thing as well, klikger. How hard would it be to at least change the background color of the case? Sheesh. |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 01:39:03 I thought that DiscLive said that each disc was going to have different artwork. |

Posted - 04/18/2004 : 00:05:18 I got WPG and Minny right in front of me.
They are the same except one says live in Minneapolis and the other Winnipeg..
The discs themselves are the same except for the dates

Posted - 04/17/2004 : 23:44:07 I saw one pic of the Winnipeg CD, and the artwork on the front and back were the exact same as the MPLS one. However, it was a bad scan, so it's possible that the packaging is a different color. But that would be the only difference. |
