Posted - 04/12/2004 : 09:16:20 I forget who it was (maybe Dave Noisy) but someone siad they would find out by today if we can bring cameras into the shows or not. I'm planning to buy a new lens if we are, so if whoever was finding out can let me know that would be greatly appreciated. I only have today up until 6:00 to buy it since I'm flying to Winnipeg tomorrow and I don't want to buy it if I can't take pictures officially since it will be too big to hide.

Posted - 04/21/2004 : 14:47:55 Just call the general manager of the venue. I know that at the Big Easy in Spokavegas they will allow the disposable cams but no digital or professional 35mm. |

Posted - 04/13/2004 : 04:42:47 no problem with cameras in brixton to any gig i've been to there.
recent ones inc blur & kraftwerk - & there were people there with digistal cameras taking stills & recording mpegs...
have used flash & non flash on my aps camera there too - right at the front with bouncers nearby - no problems at all.
this is why events unerve me |

Posted - 04/13/2004 : 03:42:24 The fineline is only allowing disposible cameras according to an employee there and the cryptic language on their website. Take that as officially as you want.

Posted - 04/13/2004 : 00:27:58 Thanks for the reassurance Dave. This thread got so Fine Line specific I was worried it'd be abandoned after the show...tonight! (Oh my god!).

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 23:43:59 does anybody have official word on whether digitals will be allowed or not? I hope so...but if not, my camera is pretty small (only about 4 x 2.5")...so maybe I could play 007 and sneak some pics, eh? |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 22:24:06 Dave Noisy: Be sure to let us know what Ken says about the cameras even if it is after the Fine Line show. I won't be seeing them until the Victoria show, and then for several shows after, and I'd really like to know whether to risk/bother with taking my digital camera along to the shows. |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 18:10:26 Well, my digital has the option not to use a flash so I say thats good enough.
HA!
eh...It'll never work. :( |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 18:02:58 someone mentioned in another thread to disguise your digital as a disposable by ripping the paper stuff off and pasting it on the other and whatnot. I wonder if this would really work, because the results would definitely be worth it. if by some miracle I end up going to tomorrow night's show, I'll sure as hell try. |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 17:54:30 So I bought a disposable camera today, uughhh, I feel like such a tool. The guy at the store thought I was a retard, I never bought one before and I was asking about the flash and everything and he was talking to me like I'm a moron. Someone should figure out how to make one with a little zoom lens, that would make it a bit better.

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 14:05:20 Yup, it's just what I thought. I just got off the phone with Tamara and she said exactly what I said. They basically want no cameras at the show since like I said and she confirmed that there is no disposible camera that will allow you to take pictures in the dark without a flash unless you bought a disposible camera with at least 1600 speed film which as far as I know doesn't exist. She also said that this policy is in place because of the band. They don't want people taking pictures. I also told her that they should just say they want no cameras there then and she agreed but said it wasn't her decision what to put on the site.

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 12:06:14 That is the entire policy mattb. I would call them to find out what exactly a pro camera is considered. I'm sure Tamara will be happy to talk some more, maybe the Fine Line should just answer our questions here. |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 11:58:42 What disposible camera can take pictures without a flash in the dark? With my camera I don't need flash to take a picture. If anyone else has played on stage before they know that flashes are extremely annoying and this policy of only disposible cameras basically gaurantees that no cameras at all will be allowed in wihtout actually saying it. Can someone provide a link to their site so I can read this photo policy in whole? What constitutes a professional camera? I have an SLR as do many amateur photographers is that a professional camera? Do they wnat to see my recipt to show that I paid next to nothing for it?

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 11:12:21 It's the band's decision (or the band's management's). The venue has no reason to care otherwise. |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 11:11:35 Why aren't cameras allowed anyway?
It's getting colder.... |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 11:05:51 I was just there and they still haven't decided on cameras. If they do allow them it will probably only be disposables.
BTW, they have no idea where this "call us at 11am for the released tickets" rumor came from ... hmmm. |

Posted - 04/12/2004 : 10:21:43 Digital cameras in england have been banned in gigs no matter what size the venue, not sure about bands's status though. At brixton academy if youve got a bag, for some reason they never search your body, so thats how i get it in usually.
