Well...I can't go, but I thought i'd share with you all a cool free opportunity. At Fingerprints in Long Beach (Belmont Shores to be exact):
------------------
THE MARTINIS (featuring Joey Santiago and Linda Mallari)
This coming Monday, April 5th @7:00pm

In our quest to have all the Pixies play on our humble little stage (a secret
agenda item in our master plan to bring you exciting music by important
artists) we will be hosting a live performance by The Martinis, featuring Joey
Santiago, who's best known for his seminal work with the Pixies, and Linda, who's
best known as the voice of the Maritinis. Together they have had songs
featured on the soundtrack to Empire Records and have self released an album of
demos that features contributions from Pixies drummer David Lovering. Joey and
Linda will be playing songs from their new ep (available only at Fingerprints
this week) as well as their upcoming full length album. This will be a very
rare opportunity to see a true rock legend in our small room. Trust us, you'll
be able to get much closer here than you will when the Pixies headline
Coachella in May. Joey and Linda will be hanging out after they play to sign Martinis
CDs and event posters and maybe even a Pixies album if you ask real nice (but
please, don't bring the whole stack).

Wow it's been almost 9 years now since I last saw the Martinis. It was at Brownies in NYC and Dave was still on drums back then. The venue sound was awful, didn't hear the vocals at all. But we had a good time.

I got there 20 minutes AFTER Joey had left. The store owner gave me a signed poster, though.
