I went on travelocity I think and searched for Iceland. I was expecting a really high price, and was surprised to find a relatively affordable fare. I am seriously considering Iceland as a vacation sometime in the next couple years now...

Porkbone1, where did you find those prices for the airfare?

Okay. I think I'll try to kill two birds with one stone. #1: See the Pixies. #2: Record an acoustic album with my band (there's only two of us) in a remote location. We'd pack up our acoustic guitars, our BR-8 and a couple of decent microphones and we'll be set. Is there any place in Iceland where a couple of guys could lock themselves in a room for a couple of days and record music? I think that sounds like the ideal little vacation. OH, and #3: go to a really cool place that I've always wanted to visit. I'd probably have to take some time out from the music to enjoy the location.

I will be checking my schedule. That sounds like a damn exciting trip. I'm only a few hours from Minneapolis. This could be fun.

I couldn't believe how cheap plane tickets were. At first I thought I would check just as a joke because Iceland is pretty far... but after looking I was thinking, "HEY! What a cool place to visit!" I think I will take your advice, though and come in the summer sometime.

I live there and I'm defenetly going. Ticket's go on sale on Wednesday, but the same company that organized the Pixies concert also organized a Kraftwerk concert whose ticket sale begins on Monday, and you can buy as many tickets to the Pixies as you buy for Kraftwerk. So the show might sell out on Monday since there are only 3000 tickets available. I'll at least be in the Kraftwerk que with a couple of guys who aren't going to the Pixies.

But the opening band isn't Bjork, but Ghostigital(www.ghostigital.com), a very weird noise rock "band" with the singer from The Sugarcubes, the band that first brought attention to Bjork. Don't expect melodies or singing.

And the website they put up doesn't contain one mention of either the concert or the venue. It's the website of the town the concert's in. As for other things to do in Iceland, there are glaciers, bars, the blue lagoon, volcanoes and other things. But I reccommend visiting in June/July, the weather will be better and the sun only sets for an hour or two, if at all.

That pretty cheap, If Bjork played I wouldn't be able to resist. I'm due for a vacation too, I wonder what else there is to do in Iceland.

Haven't been able to find anything in english about this date, anyone have a link?
