"That Pixies package is coming together, to be headlined by the Cure and supported by Love + Rockets, if things work out . . . " |

Posted - 03/08/2004 : 09:11:11 love and rockets will not be part of this "rumored" tour. see this link and scroll down:

again this is a cure site that gets its news directly from the band...... the thoughts are amphitheatres in july/august, and anything can happen between then.
I personally am completely praying for this combo, since the Cure is my favorite band with the Pixies running a close second. See you at Great Woods! |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 17:41:48 I hope this is not true. More and more, promoters are putting several bands together so they can charge you $80 per ticket. It pisses me off.
Would I still go? Yes. |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 14:41:59 dear god, no. this is all like some grand bad joke. one of the greatest rock bands of all time gets back together. public interest is huge. they do a bunch of crappy package tours. great, just friggin' great. why in the hell doesn't frank get it that they can tour on their own in large theaters and sell the damn things out? AAAAAARRRRRRRGH.
it wasn't anything about anything |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 13:35:12 Nothing against the Cure and L&R but this tour would suck. Hopefully this just stays a rumour... |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 12:49:18 from the www.chainofflowers.com Cure fansite:
"A WWCD 101.1 DJ (Columbus, Ohio), after having played a Cure song, said there's "talk" of The Cure touring with Pixies and Love & Rockets. Have you heard anything about this? Could you find out about it? I hope it's untrue, since I prefer 3 hours of Cure music over a "package tour" like this!"
(Thanks Jim)
"I heard on KNDD in Seattle that they think the cure will tour large outdoor venues with the likes of love and rockets and the pixies this summer. "
(Thanks Todd)

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 12:02:57 Pity they don't do more headline shows...would be so much greater than these festival slots and (even worse) opening for crap bands like The Cure and RHCP... |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 12:01:18 that would be amazing. The main reasons I was so upset about missing Coachella were the pixies and the cure. wow that should happpen. |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 09:34:39 Has anyone seen a better citation for this than the Rocky Mountain News? Seems like an odd place to be the ONLY source of the information, so it must be someplace... |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 08:34:37 yeah, I agree roomloo - that would be an arena type tour.
one thing to hope for though is that love and rockets and the pixies might play a couple of shows (minus the cure) at smaller venues. (That is what they did on their 'first' tour anyway)
Just a hope. |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 08:19:05 Not that I wouldn't be pretty excited for a lineup like that... |
roomloo |
Posted - 03/05/2004 : 08:15:41 Not only that but they'll probably play arenas with that sort of line-up. |

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 07:19:12 Man that would suck if this is what the North American tour will be. First I have to compete with other pxies fans and scalpers to get tickets and now it'll be competing against cure fans, love & rockets fans, and even more scalpers.

Posted - 03/05/2004 : 07:03:23 Wow!
That would actually be a 'repeat' of tour those three bands did in late 1989 - early 1990. Which turned out to be when I first saw the Pixies live.
Deja Vu all over again. |
