Discovered this by total accident today. They are doing a new tour in 2026 including a stop at the Royal Albert Hall! Well I guess its classical music to Gen-X nowadays

Boy, we really disagree a lot about Frank Black.

How is this not a great song?

That's hilarious. The tables have turned and you are defending a 2.0 song to me :-)

It's not my least favorite on the album (we agree on that one), but it just sounds like one of those ones where Frank is trying to make a pop hit (I don't pretend to know his motives for anything). I feel like there's good stuff in it, it just came out kind of sanitized and bland, not angular and warped like it would have if FB wrote it in the 1.0 era.

I love the Vegas Suite but the song is easily one of Frank’s most schizophrenic tracks

Yeah, and even a slow song like Chicken was nowhere near that kind of feeling
Slow, chill, but it works

Vegas Suite too, but I still don't get the dynamics in that song.

Motoroller sounded like a hit

To be honest I can think of 30 songs from Pixies 2.0 that I'd rather hear. It's not the best on Indie Cindy by a long shot.

The material from Zombies flowed a lot better.

Long thought the best version of Greens and Blues is the debut solo performance BF did - more of a pace to it and better dynamics. The album version is rather plodding.

If you remember any of the 1001 things feel free to share.

Opening with River Euphrates the next night sounds cool.

Next month they go to South Korea for first time ever.
billgoodman Posted - 07/20/2026 : 09:44:29
I had like 1001 things to say about the gig. But I forgot them all already

I've seen the band more than 10 times now and they are not slowing down. Last year I would have said something different.

Thanks for the review Bill!

Glad to hear that report

I really hope this tour is what the band and fans both desire

Just saw the show yesterday in Rotterdam
Sold out venue, an old factory

It was
awesome

Dave really had a good night, some speeding but that was good!
So much energy
Frank kept swaping lyrics, making mistakes, but with a lot attitude
The vocals were loud!
Absolutely one of their best gigs

i wasn't there, but last night's show at rock werchter (belgium) is available online; the full show: https://www.vrt.be/vrtmax/a-z/rock-werchter/2026-concerten-/rock-werchter-s2026-concerten-a35/
i assume you have to be in belgium to watch it, but who knows.
you also need a (free) account, and the stream is drm protected (difficult to capture). :/

setlist was a shorter festival setlist (1h 15m), and it surprised me there were so few recent songs. only one song off indie cindy ("greens and blues"), only one off trompe ("head on"), and nothing more recent.

Opening with Velouria then straight into the Happening is pretty epic start for a concert
Bedbug Posted - 06/28/2026 : 11:38:58
Setlists for 40th tour look simple to TNTZC tour sets.

It would be great if all albums were represented
Bedbug Posted - 06/17/2026 : 19:41:49
Nice article reviewing a recent show

https://metalplanetmusic.com/2026/06/gig-review-pixies-gans-olympia-dublin/

"Of course it’s great celebrating a top band like the Pixies hitting a milestone like 40 years, but at the same time remember, nothing lasts forever so make sure you get out there and see these bands while you can".
Bedbug Posted - 06/01/2026 : 14:02:10
It must be right, they did it again the next night too, opening up with mostly 2.0 songs

the whiplash must be crazy

Troubles A Foot Posted - 05/30/2026 : 11:14:01
That'll lose the crowd right at the top.

Yep, seeing them at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday. I will report back.

Is that setlist correct? Did they really open with 4 tracks from TNTZC?

Some serious Bossanova-tracks!
Lot's of Zombies too, which I would love at a live show

Holy shit, a Pixies gig without Monkey Gone To Heaven? Like a dream come true!

Lovely setlist that. Been enjoying the little clips they posted on Twitter, a few dates in China, Hong Kong and first time ever in the Philippines!

Yes, take for instance this one:

He talked a lot during the BossaTrompe shows
That was fun!

From the first Australia show this week:

Allison: (Song played twice. Frank Black said “I played a wrong chord, its a short song, let’s play it again”)

How fun is that?
Bedbug Posted - 11/04/2025 : 05:17:52
Looks like the played Osaka the other night, mainly the hits, glad they're back at it
Discoking Posted - 10/02/2025 : 00:20:30
that's a good point, about the artwork not having been created just for the tour, but maybe also for an upcoming release.

i also wonder which other dates will be added to this tour.
there are plenty of gaps still.

The venues certainly are.

But the artwork on the website seems like a lot of work for just a tour.

Maybe a new greatest hits with 1.0 and 2.0 combined and a couple of new ones.

Release Bam Thwok on it and everyone here will buy it

Add Super Lecker & Women of War and I'll pay any money

Happens a lot here. I remember a lot of people leaving Modest Mouse extremely pissed off because they didn't play Float On even though their set was amazing.
Troubles A Foot Posted - 09/29/2025 : 09:14:08
Maybe it's because I've never had a lot of money but I can't imagine paying that much for concert tickets to hear one or two songs.
