Posted - 11/09/2016 : 13:32:01 I downloaded a 4-track 7" bootleg off what.cd today and it's proven a wee gem. It's not one I have heard before, and I assumed it'd be sourced from one of the previously circulated live gigs from the Doolittle tour, but from giving it a listen, I've never heard this particular recording before, I don't think. Quality is very good, but it does sound more audience-sourced upon a second listen, but topnotch in terms of quality. Is anyone else familiar with this little bootleg, and anyone have any idea of what gig it comes from?
Here's the link to the torrent (https://what.cd/torrents.php?id=73205294) and the info that came with the torrent: Pixies - 1990 - Spriteful [7" EP] 1990 four track ep with picture sleeve Live in London 1989 A1-Monkey Gone To Heaven A2-Nimrods Son B1-Tame B2-Debaser

Posted - 11/13/2016 : 22:56:03 if this was actually recorded at a 1989 gig in london, i believe these london gigs are our options: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/1989/town-and-country-club-london-england-1bdd550c.html (10 may) http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/1989/town-and-country-club-london-england-6bd85672.html (11 may) http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/1989/kilburn-national-ballroom-london-england-33dc6461.html (5 july) (pixiesmusic.com and setlist.fm also mention a 6 july show, but without a known setlist. this probably means that there's no known recording of this show either. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pixies/1989/kilburn-national-ballroom-london-england-3bf75894.html)
you can find all three of them on youtube. i haven't been able to compare the youtube videos with the audio from the 7" bootleg. if someone can compare the four songs, and they match, then we've got a winner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npbwqz9nOFI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=muMBMRoyyXI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr31lqMyaRE
the problem with bootlegs is that they often list mistakes (wrong location, or even the wrong year). in that case it'll be a lot harder to find the right gig... it's also possible that the four tracks come from different gigs.

Posted - 11/10/2016 : 13:52:59 Here is the bootleg as I downloaded it: https://mega.nz/#!F8AFzaxI!rUdgijeFoUuF3qWW6t0DHFklfnpQaNDqDGvBN1CuTSs Note that the files are 96 kHz, 24 bit flacs, hence the large file size @ 245MB.
