A bit of a haze, but here's what I remember:

Overall, great show. The first time I've seen them with Paz, who fit right in, and was a great stage presence, though her voice seemed low in the mix (could have been lost in the crowd noise). She appeared to be drinking a glass of wine, which is awesome.

Of the new stuff, they played I.C., Snakes, Greens n Blues, Magdalena, Bagboy, Blue Eyed Hexe, What Goes Boom.

I love the recording of Indie Cindy, but it was not particularly compelling live, Snakes was uninteresting, G&Bs was AMAZING (tears in your eyes amazing), Bagboy/What Goes Boom/Hexe DESTROYED, the crowd loved them.

There's been a lot of talk of people feeling the recordings were over-rehearsed, but hearing these songs live I actually feel the opposite. I wish they could re-record Bagboy and Magdalena now that they know the nooks and crannies a little better - the songs just stomp ass now that they're comfortable with them. And Greens and Blues feels vintage with the sheen of production removed.

As far as the unexpected goes, they opened with Ed is Dead. They played Sad Punk, Distance Equals Rate Times Time, Brick is Red, No. 13 Baby, Mr. Grieves, Something Against You (right after Broken Face). No Monkey or Wave. As I recall, the only thing off Bossanova was Allison.

Anyways, they were awesome! Third time I've seen them, probably the tightest they've been from a technical standpoint. Also, Joey's Vamos solo was great, all the usual antics.

Very cool stories and feedback on the shows. Thanks all. Now hoping that with the tour over, we'll start hearing rumblings about what's to come...

Yeah, neither did I! I hadn't seen too many people on here talk about this sort of thing, but I hung out by the loading truck for a few minutes to see if other people would show up, and the only ones that came and stuck around were these two nice couples. One them had a guy that had worked with Charles in some merchandising capacity in the past, I think, so that was his connection. The rest were just fans and each of them were really nice as well, which made passing the brief time easier.

David and Joey each came out on a smoke break not long after the show, so that's how we got to meet them. I probably could have easily gotten pictures with them too, but I didn't want to be too intrusive at the time - plus, I was busy trying to take their pics with the other fans too! But like I said, they couldn't have been nicer. Paz followed about 20 minutes later and Charles a short time after that. All in all, I think we were all out of there not long before midnight? Either way, good times.

I see that Pixie Punk posted the videos I had from the show! (thanks, btw) It's not much, but I figured a few of the new songs and one towards the end were worth saving.

After the show, I went to the pit and one of the fans let me take a picture of the 'set list' he received from the show. I noticed that Charles had three pages taped in front of him, and another fan ripped them off the floor after the show and got a slight lecture from the one of the security people. But I'm assuming Charles had something different in front of him compared to what the band’s people had for the show. It seems like they had a list of songs and would just cross them off once the band played them.

Anyway, this is what was on the paper, with my own commentary where appropriate.

Just got back from the show and I agree with a lot of what you said. This was my very first Pixies show after seeing Charles twice in a solo capacity, so needless to say, I had been looking forward to this one for a long time!

Overall, I was pretty impressed. The band sounded tight and Paz seemed to hit her stride both from a bass-playing standpoint and for the vocals she contributed. I was quite surprised that they played over half of the Indie Cindy album, but I was happy to see them live and to see some of the crowd singing along as well (really enjoyed Greens and Blues, Blue Eyed Hexe, Bagboy, and What Goes Boom on my end). Happy to see some Trompe le Monde material added with Distance and Sad Punk as well, in addition to Planet of Sound for the encore.

On a personal note, I'm also glad to say that I hung around after the show and managed to meet the guys and Paz in the process. I was only there with four or so people, which was a bit surprising. But the guys couldn't have been more gracious and were willing to give us the time for whatever, which was nice. Joey seemed quite surprised when I told him I had been a fan for 12 years and was only just getting around to seeing them, haha. But yeah, I had Paz sign my ticket and the other three sign my Indie Cindy, TLM, and Bossanova covers, and managed to get a picture with Charles in the process. So that was a great cap to a fun evening! No doubt that I'll make more of an effort to catch them on future tours too.

I did manage to take some video from the show, although I had to deal with some people in the pit ahead of me and the loudest speaker in the world over to my left side (I had third row seats just to the left of Joey). I'll post some links to them once they're up.
