Simi,

Thanks for the review. I'm very happy you got in; I hope you get to see them again as well. How about sharing some of your Catholics live show memories with us? What years did you see them in? Where? Recall anything specific about the shows? Details!

cheers

Great to hear you made it in to see them!

It's just a personal preference, but I love hearing the more hard rock-ish, ass kickin songs more in concert than the softer acousty things, tho all the songs were great. So, they blew the roof off! on like Planet Of sound, something Vs. You, What Goes Boom, etc. And hearing Bagboy live was great & special since it was their first newie.
The Bowery is, by far, the best small club in NYC for all the important reasons: SOUND, sightlines, cool staff, etc

Observation: VERY YOUNG crowd mostly (20-somethings?) which is so cool that the P's and FB's stuff reaches out. Altho, when the 5 new songs were done, even Bagboy, most of the crowd didn't know them. Guess they were there to see the "legendary" Pixies, cuz they sure knew the oldies. haha.

Observation/Opinion: It IS missing the extra special quality that is KIM DEAL.......just sayin

Hi....back now. I went last nite. As a preface to the experience I just wanna say a coupla things, a sort of "diary"? When tix went on sale for the 4! shows in my area, they sold out immediately so I kinda decided that I could pass on this leg. Plus, I was going to shows on Mon and Tues anyway (Pet Shop Boys---I know, don't razz me). Plus, I'd seen the Pixies exactly 20 times ( I'm crazy when there's a band/artist I love; I LOVE going to concerts/shows! It's euphoric!)in 2004,-05, 09.
And before ever seeing the Pixies I'd seen FB and the C's about 10 times
and FB solo acoustic 3-4 times.

So, it's now Friday about 7:30pm, I'm just chilling on the computer and call up the Bowery. They say the P's go on at 10. Hmmmm......I still gots time, their last show in NYC for now. The Bowery never releases tix, forget scalpers, so I go to StubHub (never ever used them before, couldnt print out the tic for like 20 mins then, ok).

Then realized that I never even bothered (lazy fuck!) to listen to the EP, so I just knew "Bagboy" of the new stuff. So, at 8pm I start listening to the whole EP (15 mins?) three full times, cuz I hate not knowing the new stuff when I see ANY band. So, I zip down in my Hyundai, traffic, parking is crazy, but just get in like 2 mins before the Pixies take the stage.
