Posted - 11/26/2009 : 06:49:27 Usual set, with a great encore of:
Bone Machine Dig for Fire (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Velouria (aborted early on - something about a capo) Gigantic Vamos
If i'm not mistaken (and i very well might be) - they haven't played Dig for Fire since they broke up the first time [EDIT: They played it in Chicago apparently]. Very cool - the beginning was a little shakey, but once they hit their stride it was great. Totally cool seeing Dave scream "FIIIIIRE!" towards the end of it.

I may be the only one, but it's my favorite album. Really crossing my fingers for that Bossanova tour to come to fruition next year. |

Doolittle would probably be my last choice of album to hear in entirety but it still was a cool show. Manta Ray, Bailey's Walk, Silver, #13, Dig For Fire, Vamos!
The crowd was very interesting and i think i might've spotted frank black's brother at the end of th show. When Velouria started it seemed like the crowd was going to hit a peak but i'm not sure if Pixies did that on purpose or Kim was just messing up the notes. She defntly seemed drunk and enjoying herself.
Overall it was a good show and crowd. I'm sure Pixies are bored of playing Doolittle , but they still put on a good show and if they do a Bossonova tour next year, i'll be there in a second! I also got a live disc from the show, it was kind of expensive at $27, but i think it will be good to have.
Kim's a recovering alcoholic.

fyi...Kim was not drunk (she doesn't drink...that's NA beer up there), and we stopped cuz I messed up my tuning and was totally out of tune with the rest of the band. Kim is a is totally professional and kicks the boys' ass all the time!
BF but glad you enjoyed! |

Posted - 11/26/2009 : 08:43:13 'Dig for Fire' was played at some of the festival dates earlier in the year. Would have loved to have heard it in London!
Yeah, to play 'Velouria' in the original key, FB usually capos at the first fret. |
