First acts for Electric Picnic

28 March 2007

The first acts for this year's Electric
Picnic
are to be announced next
Monday (April 2)

Muse has learned that Bjork, Beastie
Boys, LCD Soundsystem, The Chemical
Brothers, Primal Scream, The Good, The
Bad & The Queen, !!!
and Sonic Youth
will be amongst those announced at the
festival's launch party in Crawdaddy on
Monday evening.

The Pixies are also strongly rumoured to
appear, while it is not yet known if the Damien Rice curated 'Big Tree' stage will
return.

Muse understands that the organisers may be approaching a new curator, due to
Rice's touring commitments.

The three-day festival will take place from Friday August 31 to Sunday September
2

Fans however will not be happy to learn that the ticket price for this years event
has jumped considerably The promoters have hiked the ticket price up €45 from
last year's €175 asking price.

This year's tickets will now cost €220 and they go on sale at 9am next Tuesday
(April 3)

Yeah, maybe I should have pointed that out! I hope they do decide to play, that'd cap off a fine line-up.

Hey Carl, which country is this held in? Ireland? You'll be one happy camper if that's the case...
