I just returned from France where I visited the Vieilles Charrues festival. I was there for the saturday and sunday, although the main reason was (ofcourse) the Pixies concert on sunday.
(no pics, no camera's allowed on the terrain)
http://www.mediafaxfoto.ro/photos.php?search[title]=MUSIC-FESTIVAL-PIXIES-BLACK&search[mode]=list&search_section=lifestyle is all I could dig up in terms of pics.

The band kicked off with Bone Machine, and although I can't remember the setlist or exact order, Break my Body, Nimrods Son, Caribou, Holiday Song, Monkey gone to heaven and Wave of mutilation and specially several other songs from their early period (Surfer Rosa/Come on Pilgrim) passed.
The band did just one encore, "La la love you"

All in all, the band put on a great show (Joey's solo in Vamos was amazing... putting the guitar on a guitar stand and changing the sound with just the pedals, then unplugging it and using his hand on the plug to create some amazing sounds even)
To me it looked and sounded even better than what I saw in Amsterdam at the 2004 tour, they were really having fun on stage.

I also noticed Joey using several different guitars this time... a Gibson Les Paul (Custom?) with Bigsby trem, a hollowbody (not Gibson) also with Bigsby and ofcourse the Goldtop Les Paul.

The fireworks after the end of the Pixies performance marked the end of a wonderful festival weekend!

Sounds surprising.

Fuck, really?! That's one of my very favorites, I always felt disappointed because that they haven't played it since reuniting. Wow, it'd be great to see them do it now!
