Nothing, sorry. Not to say that means there's nothing planned, just nothing I've heard.

The Australia thing is something you can probably count on. Famous last words though, I suppose.

pixies were also on ABC2 last night on JTV Presents.
they just did a little blurb and then played 40mins of the 2004 eurokennes concert...
they didn't just rip it from the official dvd cause they played no. 13 baby which was left off the official release....

all i can say, thank god for polio! brian

TAMAL Posted - 10/10/2006 : 04:07:56

AAhhh the old money issue.. Well I hate to make a comparison to an oldschool alternative band such as the violent femmes, but i will do so for this situation as an example of how their tour of australia went. In NSW alone they booked one show at the metro, it sold out in a couple of days, then they announced a second there. I was in newcastle and purchased tickets to a sydney show, sure enough, a couple of weeks after i purchased my ticket they also announced a show in Newcastle. All due to unexpected popularity. So I'm more likely to recommend the pixies leave a few gaps in their schedule when they organise their tour for a few extra dates to handle demand so as to not disapoint the legion of fans that are here.
1965 Posted - 04/11/2006 : 16:42:25
I really hope FB and/or Pixies can make it to Aust sometime. Breeders have been twice, Amps once, FB solo once also - but to miss out on Pixies again would be heart-breaking, since they never toured originally [1987-91] either.

Just about everyone else has turned up at some stage, from obscurities to Nirvana.

Anyway I don't think money is the issue, it's timing. I just hope time doesn't run out...

(( I'm a Snake... cut in half 'cause I'm not the one you needed. ))

just stow away on a plane and go see them in euroupe this summer :) That's my plan j/k.

no, I feel your pain. just save up your $, ebay your stuff, find a cheap flight and just do it as a once in a life time thing.
Broken Face Posted - 03/25/2006 : 05:16:57
I think people generally have no idea how expensive/hard to arrange a tour down under is. there is no 'cheap' way to travel there, and for a band to travel there, there pretty much needs to be a guarantee of big crowds and near-sellout shows. perhaps there is not this type of gurantee for the pixies/FB. i understand your frustration, because that would sure drive me nuts, but it not like FB lives in London and won't go to Liverpool. It's a bit more complicated...
