Yo, since all Pixies shows have been electric, Pixiesmusic.com and,in fact, ALL the ads specified that the Newport show was...befoewarned......a "Special ACOUSTIC set". But no such mention was made for the 2 very new added shows in Albany and A.C. And if peeps arent familiar w/ the venues anyone would assume it's a REGULAR, i.e. NOT acoustic show....stop dicking us loyal fans around |

you never know, the pixies could pull a dylan...anyways i think itd be awesome to see an acoustic pixies set.

after the show at BU I saw a flyer on the ground for newport and it said it was an all acoustic set. |

The HOB's vibe coupled with the Egg's vibe compunded with that fact that they announced that the Egg is accoustic but not that HOB is makes me think that the AC show will be a regular show. That puts my mind at ease. Thanks for the info, guys.

The Newport show is part of the Newport folk festival. It's a special show that fits the scene. I wouldn't think that any of the other shows will be acoustic. |

Just contacted H.O.B. box office, according to the guy I spoke with they have recieved no word from Pixies management whether it's acoustic or electric so they're assuming it's electric but to "call closer to the show to find out for certain". http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/atlanticcity/ 609-236-258
I really can't imagine them doing an acoustic gig at a normally rowdy place like HOB. The box office at The Egg (518-473-1845 http://www.theegg.org/about.php#directions) in Albany NY says the 8/4 show there is acoustic. Which I am looking foward to. |

So is the AC show acoustic or no or we don't know? I'm confused. I've never seen the Pixies before, and I'll be disappointed if I don't get rocked hard (rather than soft) at my first Pixies show.

While I agree -- they should specify -- I must admit I'd buy a ticket to see Frank read the phonebook.
I just bought my Albany ticket and am in the dark as to whether it's an acoustic or electric show.
