This is not new but an interesting article about miss lovely, K.D.

She was all smiles throughout the show. I thought I saw Kelly near the bus after the show.

Posted - 06/06/2005 : 15:41:54 Late show 6/2 - Frank did the "you fucking die", bit. Not real loud, real quick, easy to miss it.
I was waiting for the "there were rumors", deal.

Well, maybe you're right, but the second electric looked suspiciously like a strat to me. His acoustic sounded wonderful, btw. I just wish they would play ROCK MUSIC!

Posted - 06/03/2005 : 12:09:16 wait, Frank never used a strat last night. He swithced between 2 telecasters and an acoustic. quote: Originally posted by TRANSMARINE
Oh my God! These shows were excellent! Especially the later show, but the early show kicked ass too! In the middle of Isla de Encanta (7pm show), they all got off-time and totally screwed up. Frank stopped the song, laughing, and went into a two-minute banter with Kim, expressing such questions as "should we switch songs?" and "is it cool to start the same song from the beginning?" much to the audiences delight. So they took it from the top, and the result was the song straight from Come on Pilgrim. Beautiful. Highlight for me from early show was I'M AMAZED...and can anyone refresh me on which song it was where Kim and Joey choreographed their simultaneous jump? That was hilarious! The "you fuckin' die" also got a big laugh, and some thunderous applause. Frank didn't really re-enact the bit, he just kinda looked over at Kim at one point and jokingly said it a few times. I saw them three times last year, and these two shows took the cake. And the audience was TOTALLY into them. Last year the attitude was a bit on the "let's be quiet and bask in their presence". This year everyone seems to be like "Fuck it! Let's scream along!" and it seems to put the band at ease too. Let's see. What else. Second performance opened with ALEC EIFFEL. Very cool. LA LA LOVE YOU was a treat. Lovering yelled out P-I-X-I-E-S during CACTUS in first set. There was a sound glitch that lasted a good 60 seconds in the first set that sent Joey into a panic. That was kinda funny. Frank was having technical difficulties during the first set as well, and frequently abandoned his telecaster for a strat. Kim looked great. She seems to have dropped a few pounds this time around. Dave looked like he's been hitting the gym frequently. The Star Trek Borg-like stage scenery was very interesting...kinda reminded me of This is Spinal Tap when they come out of the pods. The Bellrays rocked. The beer was pricey, so between shown my brother and my buddy went to the adjacent Denny's and downed a few really cheap Vendange Chardonnay's. What else. BLOWN AWAY, ALLISON, VELOURIA, THE SAD PUNK, U-MASS, MOTORWAY TO ROSWELL (just kidding! hee hee!)...the shows were great! I got into work this morning 3 hours late and I'm STILL drunk! Oh...the only downer...my friend has his car broken into after the show and his stereo was stolen. But, all in all, a night of Pixies bliss!!!

Posted - 06/03/2005 : 11:40:30 oh yeah! i visualised every fookin' sentence, transmarine. what a night you had, bummer about the stereo and Roswell, you got me there for a second. my heart skipped a beat in excitement i'm glad the crowd are giving the band something to feed off. i must admit, i didn't know whether to stand there in awe or whoop it up like the screaming fan i am when i saw them last year. this year, it's different. i don't expect to be able to talk for a week.
and frank with a strat, i'd love to have seen that (the small things that get me high)
