Haha, they did that in Dublin as well, very funny, just like the Waltons. Sounded like a cool gig Jop.

Uhm okay, lots of songs of course great singing from the man himself nice selection of their career Debaser went very bad in my opinion but hell I don't care
The last song of the set was Cactus, Frank said 'Thank You' that was the first thing he said in the whole gig! After that the band were just standing and waving to the audience wich was a tremendously funny thing to see. Frank gave Kim jokey-elbow when he passed her. After 5 minutes it looked like Frank wanted Kim to say a few words to the audience, but she didn't. He even adjusted his microphone to the right height. You could hear them talk but I could not understand the words because the crowd was going NUTS. Then Frank said to Kim: one more? They debated it a bit and decided to play one more: Gigantic. This was the most anticipated song of the evening. At the end of the song Frank said: Goodnight Kim. Kim replied: Goodnight Charles. After that it was Goodnight Joseph, Joey stepped to Frank's mic and said Goodnight Charles. Then Frank said Goodnight David, and David had to grab his vocal mic which is not always pointed to him and said Goodnight Charles. Very funny, but what was even funnier was the Goodnight Kim/Goodnight Charles which seemed to go on forever, remember Gigantic was still being played! Kim finally said 'bring it down', but Frank didn't really understand it or didn't want to understand it, with a big smile on his face he said 'what, bring it down?'. 'Yeah, bring it down' said Kim, so Charles played the final chordprogression quietly and looked at her in a way that I can only describe as 'bring it down like this?', but Kim wanted to end the song, after some laughs between them, Frank turned around and looked at David and they ended the song.
Fantastic evening!

it was AMAZING! no Chris this year, should have called him on is cell, however, when I think of it, I lost my cellphone before the Pixies so I couldn't call him anyway. I did meet up with a very nice girl named Esther who was very friendly to us (me and my girlfriend Maaike). When the place got a bit moshy the three of us walked a few rows back and had a splendid time. Most of the songs were recognized and sung by the audience (festival people don't have to be fans you know). More to follow (funny dialogue between Kim and Chuck)

Posted - 08/18/2005 : 06:20:27 Rock On billgoodman! and all you other festival attendees.
I checked out the 3-day festival line-up. Very impressive.
(watch out for the Brown Acid)
Something to ponder on your way: http://celticguitarmusic.com/woodstock.htm
"On Thursday, August 14th, 1969, my Argentinean girlfriend, Patty, and her two brothers, Claudio and Sergio, pulled up in front of my house in Glen Rock, New Jersey and picked me up. Packing food, camping equipment, and mind-altering substances, we drove north up through Bergen County in New Jersey on Route 17. We were headed for the Woodstock festival in Bethel, New York, which, judging from the lineup of performers on the bill, promised to be the best rock concert we had ever seen. The artists included Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Johnny Winter, Santana, Ravi Shankar, Credence Clearwater Revival, Joe Cocker, Joni Mitchell, The Grateful Dead, The Jefferson Airplane, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young-a Who's Who of late 60's music gods. About 30,000 people were expected to attend the three-day event."
"I was a 17 year old high school student studying classical guitar at the time, but was still a rock and folk fan anyway. For the past two years I had been getting into the hippy scene by growing my hair and speaking the hipster patios, participating in antiwar demonstrations, and reading the literature of the counterculture. And like most everyone else in the new 'revolution', I was also smoking pot and dropping LSD. Not only was the music going be good, but my friends and I were going to scrape the stratosphere this time...."
"Problems arose. The announcer on the stage (at first it was Hog Farmer Hugh Romney, a.k.a. Wavy Gravy, then some other guy) kept telling everyone to avoid the brown acid-it was supposedly giving people bad trips. The Hog Farm's tent was getting flooded with acid freakout cases, and there were no facilities to deal with the medical emergencies of a spontaneously formed city of 500,000. And as I understand, the police were not arresting anyone for any reason, because a riot would have been impossible to control (however, other sources state there were some drug busts)."
"None of that touched my friends or me, though. We had a wonderful time listening to the music, staying high, and making new friends. And this was the second revelation of Woodstock-the sense of brotherhood that developed as an entire crowd of young people high on psychedelics got acquainted with those sitting next to them or others met in randomly in the crowd. There was a feeling of immediate friendship, and the sense of a group mind at work. And that psychedelically inspired love that so many of the hippies really did seem to have at Woodstock and elsewhere is the probably the thing I miss the most about the late 60's...."
