Posted - 12/07/2004 : 11:31:23 I was lucky enough to be 5th row at both Camden shows last Saturday and Sunday and am still in a state of shock at how good they were!! I’ve seen many a show in my time, and the Pixies definitely rank up there with the best. However, I must say I was a bit surprised, and slightly disappointed, by the apparent lack of enthusiasm I thought the crowd showed (both nights). After hearing Frank belt out songs I’ve grown up with the last 10-15 years, I was seriously having trouble maintaining composure. I was a singing & dancing fool to say the least and I assumed the majority would be in the same state of mind. But every time I turned around for a peek at the crowd, I saw way too many people just standing there with blank expressions. There were a few groovin, but I emphasize the word “few”. Given many people looked young and probably don’t share the same emotion for the Pixies as some the older crowd. Nevertheless, I was still surprised. Did anybody else pick up on that or am I just old and decrepit? Also, wasabi coated green peas are awfully good….

Posted - 12/07/2004 : 14:04:35 Yup, my friend and I were there on Sunday in like Row 13, and I swear we drove EVERYONE around us nuts, cuz we were singing at the top of our lungs and dancing about like loons. I mean, C'mon people, we've waiting how friggin' long for this?!?!?!?! We were blown away by the length of their set, and how Frank's voice has held up to perfection, even after being on the road all summer and fall. Oh does anyone know where i can get a recording of Sunday's show? Bummed out here over the Disc Live thing, since Philly was our only option of shows. And yes, Wasabi Peas are damn tasty!

I'm glad you noticed my air guitar. I was really on fire that night. I hope to make it up to the NY shows next week so I can unveil my air drums. I'm pretty good with most air instruments…

Posted - 12/07/2004 : 11:53:07 From where I was sitting night 1, the crowd was pretty crazy (in the pit)...someone even pleasured us with sweet air guitar for the entire show, LOL. I stayed calm and quiet for both shows (since I was taping)...but it was hard not to want to move, they were very exciting shows!
I love wasabi coated green peas!
