That was so tight! The Pixies did an outstanding show. They played so loud with such energy that my ears are still ringing this morning and still the sound quality was really excellent. I really did not expect such energy, especially having been used to the Frank Black and the Catholics more intimate shows. I think things started to get wild after a few songs when Charles started to drink beers on stage.
I am too lazy to list all the songs they played but they were the same as most other shows I imagine. Really really tight. Can't wait to see more.
Oh, and what about the cameramen? Did I miss something and they are going to release a live DVD or something?

Lol about the deafness. My wife and I were having to yell at each other the whole next day. BPrend, I have Kim's list, and yup, I'm amused that they don't follow their own set list. My wife and I were right up front by the fence, in front of Kim. The security guys were cool. They gave us water bottles right after the Killer's set, and then after the Pixies concluded, one of them gave my wife Kim's list. Oh yeah, to the two guys standing to my left, the guys who attended the Austin City Limits Festival performance, it was a pleasure talking to you. They surprisingly beat the Deftones in loudness and screaming.
Did you guys noticed that they blew up a speaker during the show? I think that was one for Charles voice. Now that's something! AHAHAHAA |

they definitely played #13. And YES! I still concur that it was LOUD AS FUCK! (And I've been up close for some loud-ass shows in my time. But I think the Pixies might even beat the Mariyln Manson show i saw in '99 in terms of volume. |

I was there too. And I concur about the volume, all day at work today i was having trouble hearing, but the damage was worth it.
And you guys were right, no bossanova. Too bad, but still, the band was great, the crowd was great. (Though some advertising, any at all, could have helped fill the place up a little more).
Anyway, i waited over a decade for this, and it was worth it. |

Just Freakin' Great. Lovering REALLY looked to be enjoying himself.
If anyone knows where to get an ACTUAL setlist of this show, I'd appreciate it, for now, this is at least a close idea of what was played... just in poor order.
How about HPD getting surly with everyone RIGHT after the show... thought that was a little ridiculous. Something to do with Sunday night perhaps?
I was a little irked that they only had like small sizes of many of the shirts... I mean, I'm not THAT big of a guy, but when I get a shirt, I go for the bigger ones as they tend to shrink and whatnot, only one I could get an XL in that I liked was the plain black. I really wanted the "Bossanova" style shirt, or the Green one, but they only had like mediums in those. : ( Also, I missed getting one at ACLMF because I figured I could get it the day after, but they stopped selling Pixies T's Saturday night after the show. :(
So... I got a black one. with plain white type.

yes, they opened the "In Heaven song" with Kim singing (she sang it in Austin also.
Actually, I like THAT song better when she sings it... but it wasn't one of my favorites before. Now it's kinda cool. |

Don't know about the cameramen, but they were everywhere.
The setlist was great (didn't make note, but I've got a good idea) and the sound really was good I thought, though again, VERY loud up front and center. The Killers (Name of the Band the played right before the Pixies? Didn't hear the introduction) were not bad, I actually enjoyed it which is saying something when you're waiting for Pixies greatness to grace the stage. Anyway, their [The Killers?] sound was kinda bad and I was concerned, it's been a while since I saw a show in the "Arena" and just didn't know what to expect.
Hate to be such a "homer" but I'd have to say it [the Pixies] was the best show I've ever seen, being very jaded of course, but there was just nothing about it not to enjoy to the fullest. I think they even said a couple of things to the crowd! Can you Believe it?! heheh, Kim went on for a second to Frank, who couldn't hear her very well at first, about how amazing it is that these little instruments could make so much noise. It was a valid point, I noted, sitting on the receiving end. You never expect them to say much, but she gave the occasional "Thanks" in her cool voice, and Frank just looked IN CONTROL. Front and Center, singing the songs that made Black Francis the MAN... and the screams were more ultrasonic than I could have dreamed. Incredible. He wore shades, and played the first half or so of the show with the acoustic, and the second with the Tele and it REALLY started rockin. The place was shakin' I tell ya... doesn't make me miss seeing the FB&theC any less, but it was truly an experience.
Just saw them at the ACLMF and this show seemed twice as long, so that was nice. Also, encores... didn't get that last time in the "Festival".
I could start what I remember of the list, and maybe we could forge one between the lot of us? or is there somewhere this is done already?
