Posted - 10/06/2004 : 16:16:53 I know they are a month away, but I had a few questions for those of you who live in Chicago. First, how far is O'Hare from the Arganon and any suggestions on how to get from one to the other (taxi)? Are there any hotels close to the Arg and what are they. Most importantly, I have tickets for the Nov. 16 show, is anyone gonna be around for this one. I'm coming in from out of town and would like to meet up with a few people, if possible.

Posted - 11/11/2004 : 10:27:45 Well, if people are pumped up about these shows, they're certainly keeping it to themselves...

Stay in the Loop, stay for a few days, or weeks. |

Posted - 10/10/2004 : 07:36:58 more: staying out by O'Hare and then training it down and back from the show makes sense. I recall a fairly normal motel somewhere near Lakeshore drive and Devon. also not too far taxi-wise is the area around where Lincoln ave. intersects with California having a few decent motels. Hey Apl4eris, my significant other and myself are also going to the 15th show!

Posted - 10/07/2004 : 12:21:56 I'll be at the Nov. 15th show. I've never been in the Aragon Ballroom, but it sounds like a cool venue. The cork floors should be easy on the feet.
You can take the Blue Line from O'Hare and switch to the Red Line downtown, which has a stop right next to the Aragon at Lawrence.
Here's a map of the L routes: http://www.transitchicago.com/maps/rail/rail.html
I used to live on Montrose Ave and LSD, at the south end of Uptown, and I can vouch for Uptown not being the best place to spend the night. Might want to look into something in the suburbs on the Blue Line, that way you can take the L to the hotel and swing back up to O'Hare in the mornin'.
edit: plus, it's cheaper to stay in the 'burbs than downtown, where even Holiday Inn is about 150/night. |

Posted - 10/07/2004 : 07:53:26 O'Hare is in Rosemont, probably 15 miles away from the Aragon, which is in Uptown. Unless you're a drug addict, there really aren't any hotels in Uptown. :) How long are you going to be in Chicago? It might be an expensive cab ride, so if it's just for the one night, you can take the El from OHare to Montrose or so and get a cab from there. |
