The Pixies were listed on this site: http://www.fcvm.com/events.htm

But not anymore...so no Columbus show for us. Our only hope is the still unconfirmed Akron show which is supposedly scheduled inbetween 3 Michigan shows for some reason. I'm glad I got tickets for Chicago...

This kinda sucks, though. It's weird..you'd think that since Kim is from Ohio that she'd want to spend some time here. Maybe she's sick of it like the rest of us...but still..we don't deserve to be deprived of Pixies goodness. Let us hope and pray.

Edit: Well a strange turn of events. It seems that on pixiesmusic.com that the Columbus show is now scheduled for October 4th inbetween Nebraska and Missouri...which is even more weird than the Akron show inbetween the Michigan dates....weird shit going down. But the October date isn't on the official Veteran's Memorial site...I don't know who to believe.

Well, it appears that they are once again listed at http://www.fcvm.com/events.htm for October 4th! This article: http://www.antimusic.com/news/04/aug/item23.shtml also says that DiscLive will be recording both Ohio dates. The problem now will be finding out when tickets go on sale...And getting a hold of them once they do..I wish the best luck to all of you!

Hey, wait a minute, Nate. I just noticed Cameo is playing there on the 16th!
Maybe we should just skip the Pixies and save our money for that. *swoon!*

Bless you Crouty!

Alright, another update!

The Veteran's Memorial website just put up a time for the concert on the 4th: 7:30 PM. There's also a link to Ticketmaster next to it, but so far the Pixies concert isn't even listed on Ticketmaster...Oh, how I hate Ticketmaster...

Again, here's the link if you want to check it out for yourself: http://www.fcvm.com/events.htm

is there some way to be updated by email or something about the columbus/akron shows...? I really am dying to see them and I think those two possible shows are my last chance, so I don't wanna miss out....thanks guys

I've heard a lot of noise, so I'm going to the stereo store, to get a white noise maker and turn it up to ten.

Who knows anything about the Akron show? Any of you planning on going like me? Any word on when tickets will go on sale? Please tell me.

Yeah Playhouse would be great. The Agora Theatre would work too. The new Grog shop is nice, and I actually saw Frank at the old Grog Shop right after the US release of FB&TC in '98. It was like seeing him your basement- cool to be that close to the band, awful to be that close to everyone else. Also Tower City is so bad I'm almost offended you guys brought it up in the first place.

I haven't been to the new Grog but I did like the old one. And yes...Tower City Amphitheater, that's what it's called. What a pile of dung. It's such a shitty fucking venue. At times it feels like you're listening to a badly recorded bootleg when you're there. All the badness of a big indoor arena show...outside!

Maybe the Pixies would play the Playhouse theatre. I think they've had concerts there...it's bigger than smaller clubs (Beachland, Grog etc.) yet not as big as the Gund.

Did I mention how much I despise Tower City Amphitheater.

You know what would be an absolutely amazing place? The Grog Shop! That'd fucking ROCK!

(And I think you mean the Tower City Pavilion..piece of SHIT.)

Thanks for the update. I'm very surprised that there's no show in Dayton but I guess Columbus is close enough.

Frank always seemed to enjoy playing the Beachland so I'm surprised there's no Cleveland show. (I don't think the Pixies would fill up the Gund, maybe the Odeon? As long as it's not that shitty place, I forget the name of it, down by the Flats, the something something Pavilion. Just a fucking flat slab of cement with a giant white circus tent thing atop it. Shitty shitty shitty fucking venue.)

anyway...
