what is great when you're listening to these earlier radio sessions (86/87) is that you realize that they had it all in less that 6 months after they started. they have said everything. everything after that will just be improvement of songs or re-hash if i may say that(& of course a great one).
i mean if you listen to the earlier recordings of nirvana for instance, it's only for harcore fans. it will take them 2 years before recording something listenable with "bleach".
but with the pixies, it seems that when they met and started composing, they immediately found their way. there are so few bands who have achieved this i think. think jesus and mary chain for instance. when we listen to these sessions, we must realize that they are 18 years old !! and they still kick the ass of a lot of bands nowadays. it seems these songs were composed 6 months ago.
so if someday we can get our hands on the master of those radio sessions, that will be terrific. don't you think ?

the people of www.pixieslive.com made a pitch-altered version.
but obviously it was made from the high-pitch version, which is the original.

Thanks for the info...If we can just get someone to find the masters and release them...

Wow, thank you.
Itīs funny listening to the Pixies playing something and not having anyone chearing at the end of the song. And the first manager of the band is everywhere in these recordings!
Great version of Boom Chick a Boom.
