This week's NME cover stars PIXIESare to record all four of their comeback LONDON shows next week (June 2-5) and make them available as limited edition live albums.
The band recorded and manufactured 15 different live albums on their recent North American tour, each one selling out.
The 'Live at Brixton Academy' CDs will go on sale at the beginning of next week exclusively at disclive.com, and fans will have two options for purchase.
The first will be a double-CD package, individually numbered and complete with artwork unique to the particular show. These will be mailed to buyers by June 21. The second option will be via a new DiscLive technology called NetBurn_, where the customer can - within three hours of the desired concert - burn the music directly onto a CD.
Only 1,500 of each concert will be manufactured. Buyers will be limited to two copies each. In addition, fans who purchase the double-CD package will be given a password to allow them to use NetBurn_ in order to burn the concert onto a blank CD, at no extra cost. The NetBurn_-only option will be limited to 1,000 burns for each concert.
As previously reported on NME.COM, a club night centred on Pixies classics is to take place in London this weekend (May 29) to celebrate the legendary band's return to live action after an absence of 12 years.
'Death To The Pixies' takes place on Saturday at Sahara Nights, Pentonville Road, just two minutes walk from King's Cross St Pancras underground station. It's just £4 to get in, and the club runs from 9pm-3am.
Special guest DJs from Beggars/4AD, VH1 and NME will be playing Pixies favourites throughout the night, as well as other stuff they love.
