Hey !

I just watched the Pixies DVD. Very nice menus with "Where is my mind" snippets all along, very nice sound (for the live part).
The videos section is cool but where did they get the masters ? Sometimes it's not better than the average mpgs you can find on emule...
There are no subtitles for the 2 documentaries but they're still very interesting.
For the live section, it's so funny to see them so young, the concert is excellent, the setlist is incredible....

You have to buy it when it comes out !!!!!!

Love the DVD. I'd never seen any of it before with the exception of a couple of the videos. I like the modern interviews with Joey, Charles, and Dave (where's Kim?) and hearing how other musicians talk about the Pixies and why they loved them (Bowie is the most interesting and insightful to listen to). Also good was the interviews with a couple of their producers.

Good stuff, definitely worth having. Awesome live show.

Well, a cross between Patrick Roy and Jon Gruden.

I think Charles in the "On the Road" documentary looked like Patrick Roy. Sloghtly crazy with long scraggly unkempt hair.

Gouge was my first contact with the Pixies, so it was really cool to see again after about 2 years of thinking of it... I did not think it was a let down, even though I got kind of sad when I watched the On The Road when they played in Roskilde... First of all, the croud was filled with weird people (it seems more and more like I´m the only metal-man to like them) and also, why the fuck did they play Wave Of Mutilation so damn slow? It sounded REALLY bad so I had to listen to the LIVE material instead... Man that show rocked....

anyone else find the DVD a let down?
Gouge, seen it, Videos nice to have, but seen, and the audio on them is poor, On The Road, kinda interesting, but nothing special, and Live, dunno if this is corrected by the 5.1 as opposed to the setreo sound (only listened on stereo so far) but the loud bits are compressed making it sound shite, plus, wouldn't the Brixton gig (that was filmed) have been a fairer and more enjoyable representation?
over all not particularly impressed at all, but guess that's not Frank's fault, it's money greedy record labels, and yeah it's nice to have, but once I've ripped the good quality audio of the gig off and put it on my iPod I can't see myself really watching the DVD again.
new Catholics material please!

Watched the DVD yesterday and I love it, of course. Hope there will be another one of the reunion tour someday.

the DVD has nothing to do with Elektra. (4AD got all the rights back last year)

in the US it's 4ad/Beggars Group - in the UK the same. Although the Beggars Group is lesser known over here...
woodworm Posted - 04/20/2004 : 14:29:07
who is working the dvds?

4ad or elektra?

or someone else??

Very good question

For ten thousand years he slept, his mind feeding on the nightmares of the weak. Now he has awakened. As the night turned crimson, the fire-blade shattered and his power died. Then, the slaughter began...

where did you get your copy from?
