the latest update says they'll be playing "mostly Pixies songs". Did anyone else find this interesting? Perhaps they'll also incorporate some of Joey's new solo stuff, along with FB and Kims?
Also what are we to make of the 3 new songs listed. Obviously a joke, and a pretty funny one at that, but do you guys think they really have rehearsed 3 new music pieces? |

I'd like to agree with you. I can hardly imagine that they would pull their solo material out at a Pixies concert, however I think there's one factor that you're forgetting to take into account.
That factor would be that the Pixies have REUNITED, which as far as I was concerned was a complete IMPOSSIBILITY, and I had always secretly harbored hopes that they would reunite. And since they've proven that the impossible is in fact POSSIBLE, I think that even though it would make no sense for them to play their solo material, and most of us are passing it off as a whimsical notion that won't happen, I think we have to remember that they're the Pixies and they have already surprised the hell out of everybody. They could do it again. Again, I agree that they won't, but simply saying that means that they COULD. Am I making any sense, or do I need sleep?

They'll do their other covers, but not that stuff. I'm not saying I would mind it if they did, it would be great...but it's not going to happen. And I'm usually right about stuff.

Well I like most every Pixies song ever recorded and one FB/Breeder song would mean one less Pixies tune. I'd really hate that. I doubt they will, it would be kind of tacky. People been hoping for this for a long time, I think they'll keep it true. |

my personal take is there
there will be no breeders, frank black solo, or joey solo stuff on this tour
and shouldnt be
for one, i can hear that by seeing them, with their bands
which i have done, and enjoyed
but this is the pixies.....lets hear the songs they did together
live
and for many of us, it will be the first time
we get to hear kim and frank together on the same stage
i think a good point, which many of you are probably making is that
it would be interesting to hear the pixies versions of the various solo stuff
that does make for good discussion
but for my taste, time and money
which i am spending a lot of
to fly to canada to hear them
should be pixies songs
just my two euro

i'd love (LOVE) to hear Rock-a-My Soul and Boom Chick-a-Boom. I wouldn't mind hearing some breeders/FB/martinis stuff, but I would prefer they stick to pixies tunes. I go to see FB for FB tunes, the occasional pixies song. i would go to see the breeders for breeders tunes, with the occasional silver or gigantic maybe. etc etc. FB will tour again. the breeders will also (if its true they're putting out a new album soon especially). the pixies most likely wont tour again, so pixies tunes all the way please (maybe with a quick rendition of 'doe' or 'massif centrale' )

i think if they were to do any FB stuff it'd probably be los angeles or brackish boy (which WAS a pixies song) - plus joey already knows them!

I dunno, Kim hasn't really been productive over the years, maybe she doesn't have the urge to write songs anymore. They're grown-up now, I don't think they'll make the same mistakes twice. I really hope they write some new stuff. |

I hope they'll play few Breeders/FB/Martini's song.
That would means the war is definitively over.
And i'll be not surpised if they have new songs to play, because FB is very prolific. |

I thought they broke up cos Kim wasn't getting enough input. I'd say they won't release new stuff as not to get in more fights. i think |

They probably just refer to the covers they once played. I hope they will play some new songs though. They still have time to make an entire album at the speed Frank writes. And now Joey and Kim have a lot more experience in songwriting, so who knows, maybe they'll help him out a little. |

Yeah i'd prefer just the original songs,it wouldn't quite be a reunion but a case of lets get together and play some stuff we wrote on our own.But i wouldn't mind a few breeders song.oh how i love contradicting myself

i think it will most likely mean that they might play a couple of post-break-up songs.

Enjoyed that Dave!! Very polite and orderly people in Victoria.
I can't quite imagine the same scene in Brixton. I see something more akin to the Poll Tax riots from the Thatcher years. Molotov cocktails, overturned cars, that sort of thing. Good job they decided to sell via the ever so secure and efficient internet!
