Not entirely sure what it means, but the band's official Facebook and twitter pages have been posting artwork from Bossanova today.... no captions included....
2020 is the 30th Anniversary... can we expect a reissue? Remixed/Remastered album? Demos/B-sides/outtakes? New packaging/artwork? And possibly a tour if this pandemic stuff ever works itself out?
Whatever it is, they've started teasing it, and I'm excited.

Not a musician of any kind myself but found this by the guy that wrote Cecilia Ann and some info on what he did to get that noise. No idea of Joey did the same but hope someone finds it interesting!
Edit: According to the below the loud roar sound at the beginning is a sample from the original version so not really sure Joey did anything to get that noise.

Which still doesn't explain what Joey actually did but makes more sense than the first article. I've always assumed it was an accident caught on tape and used.

Pretty sure I've read somewhere there was a few unused instrumentals from the Bossanova sessions. Shame they weren't included if true.

Why don't they start bringing out micro vinyl? CD sized vinyl albums that play on miniature record players, with triple fold out gatefold sleeves. I'm sure it must be possible to compress full size albums down to 5" both sides? Maybe not the same sound quality but still, highly collectibles items I think. Get it did somebody. |

Disappointing. I'll be expecting a virtual reality/holographic reconstruction of the entire 1991 tour next year for the TLM 30th anniversary at least, plus bonus tickets and a bag of weed to smoke. Anything less than that is just taking the piss. |

Official announcement on 4AD.... have to say I’m bummed at how bare bones it is... not a remaster, no bonus material, just red vinyl and a reprint of the 16 page booklet from the original UK release.

Would absolutely love something like what they did with Doolittle 25. The B-sides/Peel Sessions, and in particular all the demos along side a remastered album would be amazing.
And if Bossanova is getting this treatment, then it’s pretty definiteTrompe will be too in the future. Now that is something that screams “release the demos/outtakes!” Might finally hear full versions of Pixies playing Brackish Boy, Hang On To Your Ego, Surf Epic, etc. |
