I had no idea that his "Yoda" was a parody of the Kinks' "Lola" (a song I'd hadn't yet heard when I was 12 in 1988), but I still enjoyed and knew every word of the song. Then I turned 14 and moved on.

In any case, I think Al's parody of the Pixies' style is charming and very much him.

I first heard Al on the Dr. Demento Show....so many years ago. Dr. Demento is where I was introduced to acts such as the B-52s.

BTW, I think this would be a good song for the Pixies to cover.

I was 10, the perfect age, and awfully tired of Queen for the second time
when Another One Rides the Bus hit my radio.

13 was Eat It, which was so good.

I was 17 when Fat came out, I still thought that was pretty good.

UHF is brilliant, I didn't see that until I was in my 20's.

And a point about moustaches, which is a funny word to type,
they are inherently funny, you still have to spend time shaving
and you are left with an ugly clump of hair to spite your face.
No comedian should be without one.

I don't find this funny at all, but that's a nice hommage I suppose.

Is this guy famous outside US ?

I came to the forums to tell everybody about this, but it seems I'm a few days late. At any rate, what a lovely surprise to hear this song while listening to the album, not knowing Weird Al had done a "Pixies song." Reminds me of another he did in the style of someone else -- "Genius in France," which sounded like Frank Zappa.

Under all the weirdness, Weird Al is really a musical genius.
