Posted - 02/25/2016 : 14:30:06 I believe they ripped the 1st nights songs off a bittorrent I uploaded a few years back which I got from a cd-r I got off Gavin from defgav.com. It was listed as a full 15 songs from the 1st night of the two (the 21st) but in reality it's a bunch of songs from the 22nd and some new ones, likely from the 21st. Seems this bootleg company compiled both nights together, removing the repeated songs originally listed as being from the 21st.
I'd be quite interested in hearing the bootleg as it's been released to confirm this.
The live recording I uploaded from the 21st is lower quality than the widely circulating bootleg from the 22nd which agrees with what shine says.
But it is a really nice sounding set.
all i can say, thank god for polio! brian |

Posted - 01/28/2014 : 04:58:53 not far off tro - maybe a 7. but mostly due to sound quality. i thought this would be a soundboard recording (if it is, it's a bad one) if it's a hanging or directional mic then it's pretty good. There is a noticeable drop in sound quality from the second night to the first (between tracks 18 and 19 i think - leading me to believe the first night was a test run of sorts - does anybody know if the station broadcast both nights and if it was live??? Bird Dream sounds amazing. Gouge is pretty awesome. Sounds like it would have been a great show in person.
there are a couple songs that had me get up and check to see if my tt was spinning at the right speed (i'll have another listen and repost) - made me realise that live Pixies are terrible to test turntables with all the speed changes and off-speed pitches so to speak.
Bonus: Clear Double Vinyl

Posted - 07/04/2013 : 03:43:07 badronald's download link is still working and it's well worth the download. It's FM radio quality and a good setlist, especially for Trompe fans. Sorry I was kidding about the 6 out of 10.

Apologies. I can't explain that. Works fine when I click it. badronald provided an alternative link. Is that one ok? If not, I'll upload to a different host.

yes--the badronald one worked. Thanks for the tip. I don't see it. It was a good listen--especially nice to hear "Lovely Day". |

Posted - 04/24/2013 : 22:38:04 i believe mediafire has found a way to mark uploads as "copyright protected". if this happens, only the uploader can access the files. other people get that "permission denied" message.

Posted - 04/19/2013 : 20:40:03 true story. I was at this show... some dick head threw a shoe at the stage and nailed Frank right in the guitar as he was playing, mid song, KABLAAMO. I don't remember the song. everyone else kept playing but Frank moved up to he front of the stage and screamed bloody murder at this guy. couldn't hear what he was saying but based on his demeanor, and face going red, he seemed genuinely violently angry. he shook it off and kept playing. I honestly thought that was going to be a show ender, based on how serious he looked
that was the first and last time I ever saw him get truly angry at a show. at the time though, as a high school student, and someone curious about his whole persona, I thought "fuck this guy is pretty gnarly". ie, not someone to be fucked with.
anyway I don't blame him. what kind of a fucking dickhead does something like that?

Posted - 02/24/2013 : 04:37:06 The only Pixes feat EDF i've heard is that amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing organ version of Gouge Away which could be from this show for all i know.. Downloaded it back in the early Napster days and always wanted to get my hands on the full show so this could be the next best (or even better) thing. |
