Hello.
We're writing to let you know that we've just released an all new PixiesMusic.com.
It feels like the right time for the band to have a proper home, share some music, and provide a place for fans and the band to communicate. We'll be releasing live shows once a week starting immediately, and have posted a free show (Live at Coachella, 2004) just for you through the end of the week.
Since you're on the list, you can get the free show at http://www.lalapixiesloveyou.com.
We hope you like what we've done, and hope you're ready to help add content to the site.
La La Love You, PIXIES

Posted - 11/29/2010 : 23:14:13 so, about this '88 recording (1988-10-03 - International II - Manchester, UK), does anyone know if this was circulating before, or is this an absolutely new recording to surface?
i'm listening to it for the first time, and i'm disappointed. my main issue are the clicks at the end of each track. these are almost certainly caused by incorrect tracking, introducing sector boundary errors. when these incorrectly tracked files are burned onto a cd, the sector boundary errors result in clicks. i assume the only source available for this show is such a cd-r with clicks. if this is the case, that's a shame. i find this a bit weak. but i guess one can't complain too much about a $3.99 download.
maybe this is the reason it's no longer listed as for sale (unless you go via the link in the blog/news post).
(another thing i noticed is that the files are tagged with "1988.10.02 - Manchester, UK" as album title. it's the wrong date, but this doesn't bother me that much. i'm just listing more details here.)

do you remember what shows were up? right now it's one '88 show and 15 2004 shows.
i'm impressed that you get a flac+mp3 download for only $3.99 per show. that's quite a bargain. at this price, i might buy quite a few of these.
they also have the first 15 shows from the 2004 tour bundled for only $39.99, but if you want to take advantage of this offer, you can only get mp3, no flac. oh well, fair enough.
i wonder what the source for these recordings is. would they all be soundboard recordings? or might some be audience recordings? and for the 2004 shows, do you think it's just a rip from the disclive.com releases, a remastered version of their recordings, or completely different recordings? someone knows?

Posted - 10/29/2010 : 02:36:56 Its "shake for arabs" in Break My Body, surely? Clear as day every time he's sung it live (admittedly, not often). |

Posted - 10/28/2010 : 14:17:02 I could swear there's a line before "one happy prick" in Something Against You. It sounds like "here's a message for ya" to me. |
