So my publisher finally sent me some extra copies to play with so I am going to offer a chance to grab a copy of my book "Fool The World"- The Oral history Of A band Called Pixies"

The answer to the question is also the topic of my second book coming in 08.

The question is a three parter:

1.Who wrote the original music and sang the original version of "In Heaven."
2.what movie was it in.
3. What is the name of the Frank Black and the Catholics (Hint-from one of the first two albums) song that is about the person who wrote "In heaven".
*4. Bonus points if you tell me who wrote the lyrics (as they were not written by the person who wrote the music and sang it.)

Email me your answer and if yer right, i'll send you a book! First three that are right get a book!

EXTRA EXTRA! NEWS FROM THE LAB OF JOSH!

In case any of you guys and gals are at all interested in what the author of a Pixies book does to relax! I have just finished my first album (3 years in the making) and you can be one of the first to hear it at Itunes Store. It was just put up today!

"Creature Fantastic" is the project and "Go Down" is the album title.

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=263848377&s=143441

Many inspirations came from meeting and learning from the all the cool people I met while writing the Pixies book and the new one coming out in 08 about Peter Ivers and his friends.

Enjoy. Hope you like!

maybe start a new thread somewhere and let me know what ya think?!

Josh,

Received mine safely the other day.

Devoured it in one sitting late at night.

Thanks so much!

Very nice work, but a couple of questions:

1. Why no involvement/quotes from Ken Goes?

GOOD QUESTIONS, LETS SEE...

KEN WAS NOT AVAILIBLE FOR COMMENT ABOUT THE BOOK BUT DURING MY INITUAL RESEARCH WE HAD SOME NICE TALKS ABOUT THEATER AS HE WAS INVOLVED IN THEATER EARLIER IN HIS LIFE. HE IS REALLY SOMETHING!

2. Any attempts to reach Joey's brother who played second guitar on some Trompe shows?

DIDNT TRY T O TALK TO JOEY'S BROTHER, KEPT IT MOSTLY TO PEOPLE THAT WORKED ON THE MUSIC. NOT TO MENTION EVENTUALLY I HAD TO PICK AND CHOOSE WHO I SHOULD TRACK DOWN AS I HAD TO TRACK DOWN OVER 80 PEOPLE.

3. What's up with the 1st attempt at re-cutting "Here Comes Your Man?" With all the opportunities to milk old Pixies tracks, I'm amazed (no pun intended) that 4AD has not released this as a single or download or bonus track somewhere - especially if Ivo says it's fantastic...

I BELIEVE THE BAND DIDN'T LIKE HOW "POP ROCK" IT TURNED OUT. AND THEY BURIED IT. I THINK THE ONLY TWO PEOPLE THAT HAVE COPIES OF THAT ARE IVO AND GARY SMITH.

Hey, The play is on a long long holiday. The play became the book and the reunion. Maybe that doesnt make much sense but it did to the backers.

Anyway. For now there is the book and the follow up book, which I promise will blow your minds. Its the incredible, stranger then fiction-story of Peter Ivers.

www.peterivers.com is the website home of the book it should be in full swing by the 20th of this month, for the moment there is just a homepage.
